So I'm getting a new HDD and Windows 7 in a few days, as such I'll be having to reinstall everything completely(And I'm going from Windows XP).

Anyways, I remember when I got bored of COD4 I uninstalled it, when I went to install it a few months later all my titles and rank had been wiped. I just wanted to double check if anyone knows that that stuff is saved server side or do I have to be saving some special folders to keep my titles, ranks etc.

God forbid you have to play the game more.
Well it's saved onto Steam, so I'm kinda guessing it's saved on Steam or IWNet.

I don't mind "playing the game more". I'm level 70 though and I have a dozen mastery's and a fuckton of good titles. If I wanted to start over I'd just prestige.

I was told it does save it. Same happened to my PS3 it broke and im hoping my stuff will be there. WAIT save the files if at all possible because your wiping the hard drive i think and putting 7 on it instead.

When you prestige it saves all titles and emblems.

It shouldn't be wiped, as it is on Steam. When I uninstalled then reinstalled MW2 because of very gay lag for no reason in the campaign ( I play Crysis on full settings and 1920x1080) my online rank and shit and my campaign was all still there.

I often get lag in strange situations...I can't play Counter Strike Source, but I play Crysis at 1280x720 on Gamer settings...and I get a really good framerate in Far Cry 2, though. I think it's because of the lack of compatibility for older games...

Yeah, but MW2 is from 2009 man.. it's so weird though, it doesn't lag, but it slows down about half of the speed. Weird. Oh well - the campaign sucks anyway. All flash no substance.

I don't get lag either, instead it is really choppy. Fraps and net_graph tell me I'm getting like 60-80fps, but the game is stuttery and laggy.

What are your system specs?

Mine: AMD Phenom II X2 550 BE @ 3.1GHz; ATI 5770; 2GB DDR3 Corsair Dominator

MW1's profile is saved clientside. Back that shit up before you do anything.
MW2's profile is saved serverside, so don't worry about it (I'd still back up the clientside profile information anyway).

Hmm....that may be a ATI 5770 problem....mine is made by HIS. I'm glad that it's not just me, because that means my system is performing like it is for other people...

But I'm starting to wish that I should have gotten a GTS 250 + Intel i5...

Itl save your multiplayer stuff, but as for campaign and spec ops you will lose it all unless you back it up.

I'd say back it up, just in case.

Though you should be doing this on a regular basis anyway ;)

Yeah, I'm probably going to get another 5770 and crossfire them. Oh and my 5770 is HIS too.

Yeah when you uninstall games it sometimes saves your file on the computer (like it did with my Company of Heroes, I reinstalled it a couple months later and was still up to the same chapter in the campaign) but he is wiping his Hard Drive completely so it might get rid of his save file with his ranks and stuff too.

EDIT: He is getting a new Hard Drive altogether, my bad.

Yeah, true that man. I still haven't found my Company of Heroes. And it's been like 5 months, and the houses are sold. I bet the Lebanese people that bought the houses found my game, installed it, and fucking loved it. FUCK.

Nope. I bought the original CoH from EB games though. It's probably better than its expansion/sequel.

It's completely random whether the game breaks and wipes your score or if the steam cloud rescues your save. That's a fault on infinity turd's behalf, not Valve's and they don't give a shit about you since they can't make any more money of you right now.
