MW2... is it to "LOUD"

First off, if i enjoy a game and a sequel comes out, I don't try to like or hate it. I don't go with the "HYPE" of the game. I sit down and play it and go from there.

NOW, with MW2 being to loud, it's not just volume... Well in a way it is. no matter where i put the settings, it always seemed that the voices were far too low. I couldn't make out what was being said, OR i didn't have enough time to pay attention to it, and during the OH $HIT levels or A CHANGE OF PLANS, it madd it hard to keep up with what was going on, which goes into my next complaint.

WHAT THE F IS GOING ON!!! Through the first half of the game I was lost in WHO i was, WHere i was, WHY i was there, WHAT i was suppose to be doing, and WHO was I suppose to shoot. I can't TELL you how many rounds i put into my own men, NOT because they surprised me, but because i SERIOUSLY thought they were the bad guys. I had very little idea of where to go, or what i was suppose to be doing. I blame this on the lack of color and line scheme, basically, regardless of how OPEN a game is, there are subtle lines and color schemes that guide your eye into the direction you are suppose to be going. Running around in SOUTH MEXICO is a prime example. I can't tell you how many times i went the wrong way and found myself in the middle of a room full of bad guys who were firing where i was SUPPOSE To be. a lot of times, i would get three blocks, die, then start over, only to randomly go left and initiate a CHECK POINT a block in a half away, furthering the game.

Cut scenes were a LITTLE helpful, but not very. During the "INVASION" after the FAMOUS "EVIL" level, i had very little idea of WHERE i was, WHY i was there (which the surroundings I quickly figured out... okay cool.... wait WHY?!) then once i figure out WHERE i was, i couldn't, for the life of me figure out WHO it was that was doing the invading. It wasn't until later, that i was able to figure it out.

It wasn't until AFTER the EMP that i was able to figure out what was going on.

I don't want EVERYTHING spelled out for me like I'm a little kid. I like working my brain, I like being challenged, and figuring out WHO DONE IT in mysteries before shit's revealed. But if I'm yelling at the game screaming GREAT BUT WTF IS GOING ON or GREAT BUT WTF IS THAT, Where The F is that... etc, then someone failed.

I was tempted just to start over on ULTRA EASY so i could concentrate on the dialogue and be able to live long enough to figure out all the five questions, then go back on a harder level.

ANd lastly, the BLOOD, i mean come ON, it was cool the first time. but when your seriously playing, its hard enough getting shot and having to RUN FOR COVER, or buckle down and TRY to shoot them, but WHY would you OBSTRUCT our vision with annoying ass blood. I can't tell you how many time i think i'm running away only to find that i've been hanging out in a corner.

Also, someone PLEASE tell me why a LEAF, a BRANCH, or a BIT OF WOOD can STOP ME FROM MOVING or for that matter RETREATING! I died so many times, or got damn close cuz i'm pushing backward and i'm NOT going anywhere, I turn around expecting to see a CAR or a WALL, NOPE just the evil non bendy LEAF/BRANCH/BIT OF WOOD/DOOR FRAME being the ALL MIGHTY SUPER GLUE.

OR maybe I"M the only one. OR am I?

Let me know.

Just because you suck at a game doesn't mean you can blame the game. Plenty of people have had a great time playing. Get over it and work on it.

Yeah, the blood can be really annoying. So can the poor collision mapping. Playing the first Modern Warfare helps to get a background on who is doing what when. Just follow your objective pointer.

The voices being drowned out was a downer for me, too. Mainly because those voice actors did alot of good work in emoting their characters. Then the Sound Effects guy came in and decided the explosions weren't real enough if they didn't actually pierce your eardrums.

Edit: I've noticed they've changed what you can shoot through in Multiplayer for bullet penetration kills. Low-mass masonry walls and aged wooden fences tend to provide 100% cover and concealment, while barrels, piles of large stones, and engine blocks can be easily pierced by small-arms fire.

Dude, learn emphasis tags. All that capslock abuse makes it seem like you fell of your bike as a child, injured your inner ear, and can now no longer judge volume.

As confusing as I found this game's story, the actual game wasn't as bad or disjointed as you make it out to be. I did fire on friendlies a fair bit, but hey, it happens in real life.

But yeah, I think you're the only one, or one of few.

Ah, yes, this is true. I've noticed that there's hardly any actual cover any more. What's worse, it seems inconsistent. Maybe it's just me, but the brick wall on one map might not stop bullets like the same kind of brick wall on another.

I agree that sometimes the voices are too quiet, but there are subtitles. Also, going through the campaign on recruit would be a good idea if you just wanted to get to grips with the story (I did the first time).

Yeah, it gets pretty hard to hear any damn thing unless you happen to be wearing an ICOM or a PRR. Gunbattles get pretty loud.

Can you STOP doing that? It is REALLY distracting and annoys THE CRAP out of EVERYONE.
OT: It's a shooter. You're supposed to shoot the bad guys.
THe good guys have name tags, the bad gys don't.
Also, the crosshair differs whether you're pointing it at an ally or an enemy.
Subtitles are your friend. What's so confusing about a First Person Shooter, an extremely linear First Person Shooter?

THAT was another thing, i would shoot a guy through plywood, or a cubicle, and walk forward, only to have him pop up and rush me. ALSO, they were FASTER than you. just cuz you hit your knife, didn't mean that you'd react in time.

So you tell us that Modern Warfare 2 feels like a violent directionless clusterfuck. Gee, what a surprise!
/sarcasm

Believe me, the clusterfuck-iness is completely intentional. Too fast and loud for you? Sorry, i can't do anything with that. It's that type of plot. Also, emphasis tags. Learn to use them. NAO.

My point was you can HAVE a confusing cluster fuck and still have some idea of what the over all agenda is, aside form NOT DYING! for example, In MW1. I"m SOAP, we go up to the barn, WHY ARE WE GOING THERE? well i'm able to hear the voices and hear them say that all the other building did NOT have AL ASAD, and that location has him... GREAT awesome. Now compare that to the SOUTH AMERICAN level where you kidnap a man, and then go off, suddenly your getting attacked by many many men. and in all of this confusion they are LIGHTLY saying that the guy you captured is in fact NOT the guy you need, and that guy is in fact running around on the rooftops, which you can get too BUT there is no clue what so ever on HOW to get up there. The level design does nothing to point out where to go or what to do, and you don't have the time to look around because EVERYONE IS SHOOTING AT YOU!

So, getting back to MW1, NOt only is it the ONLY barn in the level, you pass by it previously doing the before level, AND all roads pretty much lead to it. You are able to get a good view of what's generally going on around you, men, level design, to plan ahead accordingly do to your own playing style. However there is the cluster fuck of men that are after you trying to kill you, the panic and confusion of having to deal with the AI and its reaction to your plan, making it not go as planed, and you have to go all impromptu. And while you are waiting for the helicopter to show you find out by being able to hear the voices, that the extraction point is in fact at the bottom of the hill. again throwing you into another cluster fuck. Now YES i got my ass kicked, A LOT. I'm a distant fighter, not close range. But the game is suppose to be challenging and therefore i have no complaints, cuz i knew what i had to do, and where i had to go. MW2 Doesn't do that. AT least not for the first half.

I suspect all the things that confused you are the things that were added in the name of making the battles seem hectic and chaotic.

Imagine yourself in the middle of a real battle. Gunfire, explosions, screams of the wounded, noise from vehicles, aircraft sounds, fire, and so much more... wouldn't you be confused in the middle of that mess?
Most of that, yes.

Apart from BLOOD. On my RETINAS.

If you can't hear the voices, that's why people invented SUBTITLES.

Otherwise, I had no problem. I suggest playing when you're sober. It helps.

PS: Using caps lock on random words does not help get your point across any better.
I don't have time to read the subtitles because everyone is trying successfully kill me.

I can't tell what you're saying. I genuinely can't because you have grammar that is fluctuatingly bad. It is crap and makes your posts hard to read, as you don't explain the problem very well.

STOP TYping IN RanDOm ALL CAPS. It's not just for emphasis on key words, you literally just do it everywhere, like SOUTH AMERICAN. Do you just hold down the Shift key until you feel like letting go or are you intentionally trying to make your posts illegible?

You... pretty much missed the point of his last sentence. Poor EDIT: Kollega... he got yelled at by BFF.

Anyway, my guess is that it actually was intentional mainly because, I don't know, they wanted it to be more realistic, and having a bunch of cluster-fucking going around might be close to what in happens in that magical place we call outside land?

Did you skip the loading screens?

They tell you what's going on. It's not really that complicated.

One thing I agree with... it was sometimes irritating trying to differenciate between friendlies and enemies, but hey, I'd imagine it's like that in a real war too.

LOADING screens TELL you what is going ON, who TO kill, and what YOUR objective is. AND they don't have dudes SHOOTING at you.

God, how can you do that? It hurts me to do it for two sentences. In a bizarre way, I commend you for being able to abuse the English language with such ease and peace of mind. But please, for the sake of your credibility, learn to use emphasis tags.
