Congratulations I guess? I don't have any immediate plans to pick up a copy of MW3, but if the reviews are good and I have a bit of spare cash, maybe.

Pretty sure I've seen a thread like this already today... and yesterday...

The problem is that, "Game connisuer who doesn't care about Call of Duty and wishes it would go away" is by this point more of a hackneyed cliche then Modern Warfare. At least Modern Warfare has polish.

You don't have to like the game. You don't have to buy it, or care. However, end of the day, millions of people enjoy the shit out of it, and so by any sane definition, it is a very good game. There's a reason why a lot of different games get made. People like different things.
That's not a sane definition of a good game. because a lot of people like something does not make it good. Millions of people like Twighlight or Justin Beiber, and those are horrible. No, a good game has a well written story, great characters, fun and enticing gameplay, and a lasting appeal in both single and multiplayer. the COD franchise hasn't had any of that for me since MW1
Because you don't like something doesn't make it universally bad, enough people like Twilight and Beiber that they are obviously good in a large number of peoples opinions. This part is funny "No, a good game has a well written story, great characters, fun and enticing gameplay, and a lasting appeal in both single and multiplayer. the COD franchise hasn't had any of that for me since MW1" COD does have a well written story, great characters, fun and enticing gameplay and a lasting appeal in both single and multiplayer for me, which makes it a good game.

Wait I think I just figured something out....different people, now bear with me here this could be ground breaking, different people have different opinions about what is good or bad, and like different things....OH MY GOD! Alert the media people need to know!

You probably do care, otherwise you wouldn't be making a thread about it. Me, I will be enjoying it next week. Whatever other people might say, Call of Duty has been a franchise of damn good shooters.

Here's the thing, man. There are a lot of people whose only gaming experience every year will be the latest Call of Duty. There is nothing wrong with that! I know we're really into this whole gaming thing and wish more people would try the many other titles out there. I get that. But that's no reason to look down on others for enjoying an insanely popular shooter.

The only things I care about for the remainder of the year is AC: Revelations, starting my new job and the next few episodes of Shana.

MW3 can wait....a long time......like a camper....which is ironic.

Were it not for the innundation of sweet games being released over the second half of the year (Batman, Dead Souls, Skyrim, Deus Ex, Assassin's Creed etc) not to mention Mass Effect and others in the near future, I would probably have succumbed, as per usual. However, I can't justify the expense of yet another game in addition to the inevitable countless hours devoted to the multiplayer, although hearing Price's voiceover in the trailer did give me a guilty semi.

Eh... there not that bad I'll never get it but there not really terrible. Or at least people have mistaken its genericness for a bad game. If you look at Call of Duty games they're pretty well designed. Of course I mean its still boring.

God, I remember when I posted a forum topic like this when I first joined and got trolled by about a million people. Here's a hint Andrew Vandersteen don't make a zombie apocalypse thread the backlash is terrible.

Since when is a lack of interest in something worth making a thread about? Especially when the backlash against these games is far more tiresome and inescapable at this point than the actual games.

I want call of duty to be the be all end all modern semi-realistic FPS (i can't call quickscoping, instant-killing with knives, and jumping around realistic warfare). When people realize that they can't get in on the COD cash cow by making similar games, they'll move on to something else.

I am sick of "realistic" FPS games. I really hope this comes true.

Yea, I don't care. I seriously doubt I will ever play it. 100% guarantee I will not touch the multiplayer, because I think COD multiplayer is atrocious. I played <1hr of the Black Ops campaign and couldn't stand how shit it was.

I just don't have any drive to play the game at all. I mean, Skyrim will be out.... so who gives a shit really? I mean really?

I've stomached enough "stop the terrorist plot" games over the years, and they're not even changing anything up. Same old tired formula, same old exhausted engine and mechanics. I give my attention to companies that push the fucking envelope forward. You can keep making the same game every few years, but at least PUSH IT FORWARD, be it technically, or some form of originality. Not a hard concept.

Luckily, I MW3 doesn't concern me at all. Battlefield 3 would have been nice, but then came Origin and f***ed it all up. If it would have been on Steam, I'd almost would have bought it, but... Good thing Skyrim is coming up, for 50? for a multiplayer generic-war-shooter-game is bit steep (not to mention the 60? people are willing to pay for MW3, that's just ridiculous).

I don't care about it either. Or Halo, or Uncharted, or Gears of War.

I want to make it clear here that I'm not trying to begrudge anyone their fun and anticipation, it's just that it can be kind of annoying to watch the entire gaming community lose their shit over something you have no interest in (or worse, actively dislike). It's particularly bad when people- consumers and games journalists alike- treat these games as if they have some sort of brilliant story to tell, when in reality all four of those series are drowning in cliches. As someone who cares about where games are heading as a story-telling medium, it's disheartening to see milions of people enthusiastically settle for second best.

Oh, look. It's this thread again.

"I don't like something that's popular! Look at me! LOOK AT ME!!!"

How many threads like this pop up every single day, and how many people make threads like this and actually believe that they're somehow special or unique? News flash, honey: everybody hates Call of Duty. You'd be in a minority if you said that you were excited for this new one.

There's a big list of things I don't care about. I don't take up valuable forum space-time to unburden them on people. Yes I will buy it, yes I will enjoy it, no I don't care if you don't feel the same.

If a game is voluntarily and repeatedly played by millions of people, and enjoyed by so many, how can your personal taste negate that? Ill say that a great game needs to do some innovative and daring things, but how can, "It is enjoyed by millions" amount to anything less then, "Good" without positively reeking of pretentiousness?

Is it wrong that I couldn't care less about MW3? I know that the game claims to be "The most anticipated game IN HISTORY" (bullshit!)but i really don't care. I kind of hope this game is REALLY bad so we can stop getting these samey-boring modern warefare shooters and start getting shooters like Blood or, hell even Bulletstorm was better.
anyone else feel like this?
Sure, plenty of people feel like you do and love to parade it around.

Me? No. I fucking love Call of Duty and hope they never stop.
