Despite being relatively new to the game, I'm kicking higher level ass with a set-up of either SCAR-L, P90 or Type 95 (depending on the map size and type), all silenced, with Quick-Draw and Blind-Eye.
My number one rule when playing pretty much any kind of shooter is 'Don't Be Predictable'. Every time you move in a way you could be expected to, you open yourself up to snipers and others who will punish you for it.
The more you learn about each map (how it plays out, where people rush etc.), the more success you will find.
