Ok, now that we have that out of the way. After going through the previous topic, I've made some modifications to what my background rotation is. So I wondered what you'd think time, except not just what you think girls would think.

Also, I found this picture while doing a random search for Apple stuff. It was labeled "The Secret To Apple's Success". While I have no idea who orginally did the picture, I thought it far too.....unique to just let go. I had even considered adding it to my background rotation, but it wasn't an explaintion I wanted to give often. However, I figured I'd share it, just to see the reaction. While it is not inappropriate, it may offend those with...delicate sensiblities. (Read: Nuns)

And they're better than before I guess. A bit nerdy though, and none of them are that nice anyway - I'm sure you could find much better pictures to use as wallpapers.

Well I'm not sure why you're so concerned what people think of these pictures. I mean the majority make you look like you enjoy games. Not a problem right? The other few are arguably "worse", but if you want to see them on your desktop that's your choice ins't it? They're not really offensive or anything, so continue as you wish I suppose.

Sooo... the point of posting these? I'm not getting it. I mean, the majority are straight-up taken from official branded wallpaper releases rather than creative or original works. There's nothing there that's particularly 'wow' (well, apart from that 'apple' one, which I'd say was just shockingly bad taste...).

Mine's a photo I took myself, shopped to have an interesting contrast between TF2-style cell shaded-ness in the background and sharpened details in the foreground. I think it's kinda artistic, am quite happy to let people see it, and like the muted greys and splash of industrial rust on the right that counter-balances the icons down the left.

It's your thread so I'm not posting it here, just saying the sort of thing that you can think of if you're looking to get a desktop that you wouldn't have to worry about a girl seeing (gasp!) and one that may even impress in those 'post your desktop' threads.

All the halo/haloesque pictures? They can stay if you really want, but you probably shouldn't have them either.

You want something appropriate for any time and place? Get some artwork. A beautiful photograph. Something like that.

The only ones liking your current rotation are other guys into halo, guys into animé, and I'd guess lesbians/bisexuals into animé/hentai.

Did you read the original thread? I really didn't feel like re-doing the opening paragraph from that one, but I guess I should have.

I didn't see any hentai pictures there at all.

All of them (excepting the pictures of girls with knockers the size of watermelons) would probably fine with most girls, if not necessarily considered cool or interesting.

My background is from HAWX, it's four F-15 Strike Eagles flying in formation. Not too nerdy, and certainly no girls with over-sized boobs wearing "clothing" that would make strippers embarrassed.

Most of them are pretty manly except for the original ones and like one other. I think what really matters though is what pictures you liked more.

It goes without saying, don't do yhe last one. Just don't. The others are all right if you're into that stuff. If it's laptop then it shouldn't matter too much. A desktop on the other hand should atleast have something that is appropriate. I personally have Cthulu, so yeah, no one questions that.

Well, at least now it would take longer for me to think you're "one of those anime fans". Again, the "those" part being the important part. I'd still think it mainly based on a few of the anime related ones though.

But still, I agree fully with the people that say get something not game/anime related.

I'd recommend against the Ghost in the Shell and Witchblade ones.

And the one with the giant melons, but that should go without saying.

EDIT: I just realised that you can see the purple girl's nipple in the Witchblade one. It's covered with paint or whatever, but still.

Well, if you're still concerned about your image, you're doing better. The women-folk probably won't run screaming from your room at first sight of your background anymore, but now it just looks a bit plain. I mean, with the last one it had a little flavor, and we probably could've made a decent stab at your personality based upon it. With this it looks like you spent too much time on Crysis/Halo's websites.

OP:When it really comes down to it, 90% of who sees your desktop is you. So it should be something you like, and if someone sees it and thinks less of you because of your interests, then you probably wouldn't get along with them very well anyway.

That said, in general sexuality is considered a private thing. People don't really care if you like wildly out of proportion tits or anime girls, just as long as you don't go flaunting it every where.

If you like anime, great show off your interest. But in general, most people regardless of gender get creeped out by overtly sexual things on display.

P.S. I feel like half the thread didn't get the joke behind the last pic...
