Long story short: someone's kidney decided to take a vacation and I agreed (like the idiot I am) to make them food that wouldn't immediately kill them.
I discovered a cabbage.
I excavated a crock pot.
They can't have salt, red meat, canned vegetables/soup, or tomatoes (amongst a list of other things).
This thing will likely cook on a low heat for many hours to pull out some vestige of flavor from the great beyond.
And I have cooked things before, so the actual act of making food is not going to be put into question.
What I need advice on:
What should I put in with the cabbage (and probably potatoes) to make the dish less bland and pathetic?
