My Computer is Posessed.

Lately my computer has been making two odd noises. The first noise is that of wind whistling, and the second is a soft thumping/clacking sound that I can't describe. It makes these noises over and over again. I know the hardware itself is okay, because these noises are emanating from my speakers and go away when I mute the sound. I have no programs open that would make these noises, and they won't stop. What the hell is wrong?

I recommend asking this at Tech Support Forums. I've been getting help there for years. http://www.techsupportforum.com/ Of course, all my problems went away when I bought a new computer. When your computer is 6 or older, there's not much hope for them.

I hate to say it, but that just sounds like something is wrong with the speakers. Maybe your wires are damaged at the connectors, or something is just busted inside.

Sounds like something wrong internally in the speakers. How old are they?

I got my laptop a year and a half ago. But it is a crappy netbook. The odd thing is that other than these two very specific noises, the speakers work fine.
