You know who hates digital downloads ? People with shitty internet like me.And believe me there are way too many people with shitty internet. The data caps, the fair usage policy, the throttling down of speed and such other shitty tactics employed by ISP's in my country (india) makes embracing digital downloads impossible. So i only buy retail versions of games. Not to mention more often than not retail copies of pc games are way cheaper than digital downloads.
For example here most brand new AAA games for pc costs 20-25$ at retail while on Steam the same games costs 50-60$ so why in the blue hell would i want to download from steam ? Retail copies saves me time and money both. And i also like to havemy games retail because i like having physical copies of games to show off as a collection. So you like my argument gainst digital downloads ?

I made the transition to completely digital as a PC gamer sometime after Fallout 3. I realized that more and more copies of PC games were pretty much nothing more than a disk that booted up steam and told you to just download it from their service. Personally, I think it's a shame because I hate the idea of your game just being a part of a service. I prefer owning a disk that no company can suddenly stop me from playing it. Alas, there really isn't that choice anymore.

While I transitioned games wise, I am the complete opposite when it comes to movies/tv shows. I want those seasons on disk, especially when they're charging the same price for the thing.
What is your avatar from, the Bruce Campbell thing? Can't say I recognize it.
It's from a TV show call Jack of All Trades

It's free on hulu if you're in the USA.

you seem very angry and confrontational about this. You act as if your being attacked and must defend your beliefs to others.

I was not making any argument for why digital download was good or bad, just simply stating why I personally fell into it.

Also on a side note I'm going to guess India have what I like to call "developing 3rd world country syndrome". In which burned disk piracy is fairly rampant because there are crazy markups on legitimate copies of games. For example I hear in Brazil a legitimate copy of a new AAA title costs about $125 Where as you can get a burned disk for $10-$20. And there is little to no stigma there for doing so because of this.
