My DS phat is broken

Well after 5 long years it has given up on me. First the L key went faulty usually not working about 2 years in and then the R key started to be a smartarse and not work sometimes last year. And again last year my top screen has been messing up. The colors wouldn't show up right or the screen wouldn't change and if my DS wasn't fully open you could only see white on the top screen and then yesterday the screen just showed up white no matter what. The touch screen is fine if a bit off center.

So what should I do about it? I really don't want a DSi. And the sticker on the back that showed the registration number was rubbed off so I don't think Gamestop can repair it.

EDIT: I can't afford a DS Lite, yet anyway.

Maybe a DS Lite? Since the DSi came out, DS Lite owners are trading their hardware in to gaming stores to get that new thing. Should be cheap. I don't know where you live, but in Toronto, Canada, EB Games will sell a used DS Lite for about half the price of a new one. Still cheap bastards, but whatever.

Nintendo discontinued the DS Phat a while back, so I doubt they'd repair it. If you really want to keep it, try e-mailing first to Nintendo of WhereEverYouLive.

Buy a DS Lite. Or if you feel lucky, try to open & fix it on your own

Maybe you could give it to someone who's good with electronics? My neighbour fixed my toys, VCR and gameboys when I was little.
