Well, my neck. My neck got cramped (that's a HUGE understatement) because my monitor was at a bad angle and my pillow wasn't plush enough. I'd give it a day or two before I would start panicking.

I once had tendonitis for a few weeks because I was typing too much. It was much more painful than a slight finger ache, though. I wouldn't worry.

Hasn't happened to me unless I play a game that forces my fingers over a wide area of my keyboard.

Take a break, and you should be fine. Also, crack your knuckles.

No.

But I have something 100 times more intense and dangerous and worrisome that happened. I fell while walking, and SCRAPED MY KNEE! It stings really bad and I don't know if I should go to the hospital or not.

Nope.

Tell me, is it cold in your room? As the cold makes me fingers ache when gaming and typing. If no, it's probably a strain of some sort. Not sure, I'm not really a doctor.

I've never had my fingers hurt, but I've had my wrist hurt. It was a boss fight from Drakengard 2 and there was so much running around, and I guess I was pretty tense about it. By the time I finally beat the jerk, my wrist hurt like crazy and my fingers were even twitching. -_- I actually had to get an ice pack for it that night. I felt kind of pathetic, actually.

Though, it's the only gaming injury I've ever had.

Ive found that on my right hand, my mouse hand, I have to be carful with my index finger and middle finger's with repetative strain injury. This is especially common if you use your index finger to both left click and scroll with a mouse wheel. If this sound like you, then you need to ease of the gaming for a little bit. Maybe a week or two to give them a rest. Try not to use a computer at all (might not be possible). When you come back, start alternating what fingers you use to click. If your just browsing the web where speed doesnt matter, use your ring finger to click and mouse wheel for a bit. when your gaming, try to learn to mouse scroll with your middle finger to reduce the load on your index finger.

If your a console gamer, and the pain isnt directly associated with thumbs on joysticks, you need to give yourself time to heal. You cant do it any other way.

It might be worth getting an exercise ball to help circulation and strengthen your hands. Dont do it while injured. Youll make it worse.

Don't blame it on games, your masturbation is getting outta hand (ba~dum psh!) and first step to getting better is acknowledging!

Yeah Ive had repetitive strain type injuries from gaming. Right now I have what feels like a tear / bruise on the pointy bone bit of my wrist (ulnar?) where it sits on the desktop, and in the past I have ended up with Plantar Fasciitis in my heel from having my foot resting on my computer chair for hours. To fix the latter I put a pillow on the floor to put my feet on, and I guess I need a mouse mat with a comfy wrist pillow. If you are using a controller, I guess your fingers could end up hurting. You generally need to take a break for a few days and it goes, sadly I live my life round computers so I dont know how Im going to sort out my wrist...

If you play games for hours and hours at a time, eventually your body suffers I guess, especially if you are 32.

It's too late for you now. You should call the morgue.

I got RSI real bad when finishing my dissertation.
With games it's never really happened, except for when I used to own a DS, and I must have been holding it for too long at a strange angle because I really hurt my hands. I sold it in the end.

Back when I played WoW I used to get sore wrists a fair bit (I shit you not).

Also with Guitar Hero.

I think its really only Guitar Hero/Rockband that has given me real aches and pains, but I had real trouble after having a serious neck injury because I kept losing the feeling in my fingers.

I do have a fabulous controller callus though :D

Oh don't remind me of tendonitis. I used to play bass guitar in a band when I was (much) younger. I played so much that I had a major bout of tendonitis. Had to wear a brace on each hand and was completely incapable for a couple of weeks of doing anything that involved delicate movements of the fingers.

Playing Guitar Hero while it was cold made my fingers ache like crazy.

And when I was younger, I had a blister on my right thumb from holding down the X button in Crash Team Racing for hours each day.

You'll be fine.
