Geometry Wars 2 is the charming little game X-Box 360 Arcade that teaches that shapes are evil.

They want your soul I guess... (By the way you are the white C, everything else needs to explode)

Okay. That's the plot of the game.

Gameplay:
The relative feel of this game is simple. Move the Left Thumbstick to move, and move the Right one to fire in the direction the Thumbstick is facing.

There are a total of 8 different game modes to play from. In new, great smelling colors!
Deadline: Shoot as much as you can 3 minutes and unlimited lives. Simple enough.

King: You can only shoot inside these little rings scattered about, but you're safe from the evil Shape-lings while you inhabit the ring. Careful though, the rings only last about 5 seconds before shrinking into nothingness.

Evolved: Like Deadline, only unlimited time and 3 lives.

Pacifism: you can't fire (hence the name), so the only way to kill the continuous onslaught of Shape-lings is to fly through gates that explode and kill any enemy within a small proximity of that gate

Waves: Constant waves of enemies come, but there's a catch. These are the enemies that only go along a set trajectory, vertical or horizontal.

Sequence: 20 levels, set patterns for each level, destroy everything in those patterns.

All of these are really fun to play. I didn't really want to just tag "This is a good one" after all of the game types

What's that? You want a buddy to play with? How about 3? That's right folks!

Multiplayer!
Oh, wait...It's only for one console, no LAN or LIVE available. But you can go head-to-head (score most points), or go co-op (cumulative points) to destroy the Shape-lings. LIVE or LAN would have been fun, but then again who wants to ask "Hey, you wanna quit playing TF2 and play Geometry Wars?"

Graphics and Sound:
Pretty much the same as the first one, upbeat techno music and happy, colorful polygons-of-doom. If you don't like the music, you can change it to your polka or whatever without silencing the sweet sound of 'sploding shapes.

This game will keep me amused for the months until the "Gamer's Drought" ends, but it will most likely just sit and gather cyberdust when better games come about, just to be brought back next year when the coming games get boring. So if you want a game that will keep you amused in the Gamer's-Drought-of-Summer-Present and Summer-Yet-to-Come, this neat little thing will keep you amused.
But if you haven't played, or didn't like, Geometry Wars 1 then you can test drive your C-ship(see photo above) and see how you like it in the trial version. I was one of these guys that trial'd it, and I liked it enough to pay up the 800 Microsoft Points (about $12.50 American) for it.

I'm not much of a writer, as you can see, but some kind of advice for it would be very much appreciated. If that advice is "never review games again", so be it.

Aside from the best opening line I've ever been graced with reading, this review is pretty solid. I say that, having a background with Geometry Wars, and familiar with the game's setup. You very briefly describe the gameplay, and not much else. Ultimately, the review could do with a lot more meat.

The gameplay sounds simple, sure, but that's hardly appealing on it's own right. Is the game fun about the various gameplay options, and do they carry the worth of the game's cost? How about the game's merit as a stand-alone application? Would you willing suggest this game for someone who's just getting into gaming? How about people who aren't usually fans of the genre? Can you describe this game to me if I'm not very familiar with shooters of this type?

There's a lot more that can go into this review. But as far as writing goes. The voice flows well, telling me about this and that in a relatable and easy way. I appreciate the candidness, and the sentence structure is neither bad nor stellar.

Little this's and that's to be improved, but otherwise not a lot wrong with it. Don't be afraid to delve into the game itself. Not just the good and the bad, but the why it's good or bad.

That's it from me. I'd definitely say keep writing, and good luck.

what system is this for?

it looks sort of like asteroids

I heard about a game coming out that's sort of like this that's designed to be for 2 players, a blue player and an orange player, and they have to work in tandem to defeat a swarm of shapes of different colors that are coordinated to either players.

I think I would totally play this to the point of scary.

X-Box 360 Arcade Download.

Although I believe it's also on the Wii and DS in different forms.

EDIT
Wii and DS [http://www.amazon.com/s/qid=1219895659/ref=sr_nr_p_4_0?ie=UTF8&rs=468642&keywords=Geometry%20Wars&bbn=468642&rnid=345753011&rh=n%3A468642%2Ck%3AGeometry%20Wars%2Cp_4%3ASierra] Not the same game, but one of it's predecessors. You're right in saying that Geo Wars 2 is only on the 'Box.

no xbox live points to get the full version, and I don't have my HD anyway right now, so the demo will have to do :p
