I had an idea for a video game a while back. You control a character going through his or her daily routine, but you have the option of letting the character know you are controlling them. When you do this it chips away at your characters sanity and the more you do it the more severe the effects become. Basically you get to watch your character have a mental breakdown.
Would the blender program be sufficiant to make this game and if i did make it would you play it.

Depends if you want it in 3D or not. For a 2D game I would recommend Game Maker, or hell, even Adveture Game Studio, you can do some pretty cool stuff in that.

Sounds like how I play the Sims.

Isn't Blender just an open-sourced 3D modeling program?
Also this, I'm pretty sure Blender isn't a game engine.

Oh yes, and again... that is a magnificent game idea.

It would be evil, but you would need to put some self awairness and cause and effect in the main character, like if you save his life too many times he thinks he can't die and decides to rob a bank.

Sounds like some sort of mod project for a Sims game, if they have good modding tools that allow that sort of thing.

Oblivion has good enough modding tools. It has daily routines and custom scripting.

Blender is a package for making 3D assets and doesn't let you make games. If you want to make something from scratch then you would need to learn something like Unity, Game Maker or C++.

Yep, but I saw my friend make a game in Blender. I don't know how, but he did...he's really smart, though. And it was fairly low-quality. You were a squirrel running around collecting acorns.

It appeals to my psychopathic tendencies, not sure if that's good or bad though.

sounds interesting. It would need some sort of immersion system though, because I can see how that could get boring after a while.
But otherwise, I would LOVE to see that.

Well yeah, you could technically make a game in Maya using mel and python scripts.

Unity is a pretty nice game engine. Object orientated, but requires some C# knowledge for scripting.

Sounds sort of interesting... it needs more development though, more things to do and whatnot.

Hold on a second... game... game...

My idea for a while has been a game that the more you mod and hack it the harder it becomes...it'd be impossible to make but it'd still be pretty funny.

Well, to tell you the truth...I like when a game, movie, or TV show refrences the fact that they are in a form of media. Though I do think this is almost...immature. Fun, I will not lie, but immature.
