I'm having an issue that not only do I not know how to solve, but I haven't been able to figure out a Google-able way of putting it so that someone smarter than me can solve it...

Basically, I'm trying to play a bunch of video files (.avi format), but the audio and the video are drifting out of sync after about a minute. I've had this issue before, and it was simple enough to fix, but what's complicated about it is that if I click to any point in the video, they will be in sync again :s So it's not a case of using something like aviFix to choose the start and end points like I've done before.

SO! All you smart people, can you please either let me know how to fix this, or tell me how to google it in a way that won't leave me digging through 50 pages of results? Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeease?

been a while but i assume this is an issue with keyframing.

assuming you just want to watch the video then try VLC if you haven't already since that seems to play basically anything.
if you are trying to reencode then it may be an issue with sampling and here is a link to a post i participate in some 6 odd years ago that should help

I should have mentioned, it was universal across all players, including VLC...but I have since "solved" the issue!

I realised my issues all started after updating to Windows 8.1, so I rolled back to 8, and voila! Issues gone. It makes no sense to me, but I can watch videos again so why not. Thanks lechat!
