(First of all I posted this a very long time ago and are reposting it due to lack of attention. So some of this may already be in place. Plz don't fry me))
Okay I had some nifty ideas for l4d2 and wanted to know what you think. Some names are put because i couldn't think of a name for them and will be marked by this" (1) " so give me feed back and tell me what you think and feel free to send me messages. I truly hope valve takes a look at this:
You and your allied npc survivors getting infected. how?; Well you would have a certain amount of resistance or immunity points that would decrease the more you are exposed to its source. Fore example, when a boomer pukes on you, you would get some infection points, or if a zombie has enough time to bite you( after awhile of attacking it would bite ) you would turn into a boss infected that are there or some of my new ones. and essentially fight your previous allies or join the infected ( like old pvp, or when you die you will take control of another npc survivor. ) And certain dugs or med pack would cure you of some of you infection or it would drain over time or some combination of both. Which brings me to my new unit and other npc ideas.
Fellow Survivors: I am still trying to debate whether you will always find them roaming around randomly or only if one of your survivors have died, or they will simply join up in your party ( they would be met in #'s from 1-3 ) and add some more firepower and give some options if you die or are infected. Or one of them could join only if you are missing a member or more, or provide temporary assistance and stay in the safehouse when you reach it, or have bases pre set up for crescendo moments with massive horde and bosses come and just leave them at their fortification while you move on. Also they would not be aggressive towards you ( kinda given ). Also some big dogs as well, or make a dog a findable survivor and give him dogmeat like abilities, ( find weapons, ammo, and growl as a warning from nearby infected. )
Looters or Phycos: Crazy people that appear in numbers from 6-10 and will harvest any and all resources from the area and will aggro you and the zombies. They would also aggro other survivors and the military as well( military part is next
). They would posses mostly melee weapons and weak ranged weapons ( handgus etc. ) or essentially stuff someone might normally have in their home as a weapon of short notice. They will often break doors and window, almost aiding the infection in their frenzy.
Military soldiers: Help you or seek to destroy you? If they were here to help they would be at the end of the story line like in the previous games ( your complete rescue, not just a safe house. ) They might join your party ( like aforementioned survivors ) or escort you to the next safe house and/or aid you in their small out posts/camps ( generally appear in numbers of 2, or 1 if its a sniper. ) and maybe give you and your homies a vehicle ride, and be otherwise helpful. DESTROYER SOLDIERS: they would kill anyone and anything ( 1st infection, then looters 2nd and you 3rd. ) so you could have opportunities to watch some epic battles between factions. They would be trying to erase any hosts ( which is you and other humans ) and infected from the face of the earth soullessly. Occasionally they will bring in a vehicle thst acts like a boss and you can drive it to a certain point them be forced to get out and continue on foot.
Thugs: A new boss infected i thought of that is merely a stronger version of the horde. It would have all the same abilities but improved, it would be playable and would appear as a rather buff man or woman( ewww ).
Spitters: These would spit infectious acid at you from range and do damge as well as add to your infection status. they would have a weak zoom and good accuracy, and lower damage. if would appear less bloated than a boomer...... This would be playable.
Infector: Not all dogs go to heaven, some try to kill you. They would have infection slime all over their bodies and their bite would give you super infection points. They would be fast and tougher than horde. They would have a jaw that would open unnaturally wide and if they charge bite you it would render you incapacitated. This may or not be playable.
Healers: they would heal the undead by releasing gas or spitting on injured infected. She would appear as an old woman and would still have the basic melee attack, she would be playable.
