Holy fucking... fuck...

Did you collect resources manually or inventory hack? It's no less impressive mind you, just curious.

That's pretty cool. Takes a hell of a lot of patience to make something like that. I recommend making a shortened down overview video though to showcase it all in one go, not everybody will have the attention span to sit through that and it's a shame.

I used INVedit, would have been too much time consuming to collect all those, my goal is to build a city, not to have loads of chests full of some materials :D yes I used tools, MCedit and INVedit.

I don't know, if one is not interested then he can spin through video, or don't watch at all, why spam YT with shortened versions of what is uploaded in full?

Figured as much. Don't take it the wrong way though, this is very impressive. I just figured this would have actually been physically impossible to accomplish through manual resource gathering (at least in 6 months).

Also it wouldn't be as fun :D when it's 9/10 time spent on gathering then the work itself won't pay off, unless you get an award of patience and prize money for "mining up whole minecraft world" :D

Personally i feel that if you just give yourself the materials you're missing out half the game, although if you dont enjoy that half of the game, who am i to tell you otherwise.

Although you're right i dont think it would actually have been possible for him to mine all that material in 6 months.

Anyway your city is frikkin awesome, can i ask what music you used in your vid?

Oh I'm personally fine with it as it is, I watched both parts in a full and enjoyed it, though maybe it was a bit repetitive. It's just you'd get a lot more attention with a short video, with that pointing to full videos if people want to know the inner workings of your city. I think your city deserves as much attention as it can get. =)

It's kinda hilarious how you can have two such contrasting opinions poping up at the same time.

That said, it's the Borderlands argument: It's single player, whatever works for you. I haven't tried it yet (because I just started playing), but I'll definitely take a look at inv. hacking just to build tons of stuff.

Also, the musics he used are in the youtube description... As was the answer to my question, except I was too stupid to look it up. Derp.

First off... I fucking love that music. I've heard it before. Amazing stuff.

Second... I've only watched one minute and I'm already incredibly impressed.

Third, since I'm that impressed, I'd like to see it for myself. Any chance you could put it up for download somewhere? There are plenty of Minecraft world-sharing sites.

If you do, send me a link!

Music credits are in the description of the video, also in defence to statement that I missed half of the game, well my first worlds before this one was trying to dig a hole for the citadel, and I've spent like full 3 months before pissing up and then quiting the game for some time, then later I thought "why not to skip all the time consuming activities and try again?" like I said, I enjoy minecraft as much as I enjoy Photoshop or something else, but if in PS I would have to collect colors and pixel I would definetely download a mod to give me infinite color :D I play this game because it's like "SUPER-FUN LOW-COST 3D Studio Max MC PAINT STYLE" :D

Sorry dude, I won't deliver the safe file when I am not finished with some parts of this city, maybe I will upload it when shipyard will be finished (I am now thinking to build Man-of-war and loads of other stuff, like ship building dome, drydocks, stuff like that) also all that cobblestone pavement you saw must be full of buildings, so maybe in autumn I will be delivering the save file

Yeah I actually have the thought inside to use it in Table-top RPG, but it is a lot more difficult to build a city in Minecraft than it is to draw whole world in MS Paint :D

In answer to both of you here, i think yahtzee put it quite well in in his zp review of minecraft, he said something along the lines of 'part of the appeal of building is the effort required to gather materials'
And while i agree with this opinion, i can understand that other people might find the mining tedious, and if you want to skip that then obviously thats your choice :)

also thanks, i should have checked the description properly lol, i forgot about the 'show more' :(

This might be a very stupid and Off topic question.
I've been playing Minecraft for a while now. Singleplayer.
And I like to build stuff. I just for the life of me can't figure out how to get that INVedit where you can just pick items you want.

Could someone enlighten me?

Well like I said, I use Minecraft as I use Photoshop or MC Paint, and I enjoy it same way I enjoy PS and MC Paint, and in that way I enjoy creating and building, not acquiring materials. So basicaly I am not playing the game, I'am building a city :D
