I've honestly NEVER had steam crash on me, not even once! And I use it daily and have been using it for a long, long time.

Maybe I'm just lucky ;)

Me neither.

Try reinstalling it, OP. As I've certainly never had it crash.

No, I have this too. And the results of my attempts to play spy in tf2 proves that I am not lucky.

OP: May I suggest that there is a problem with your computer or intertubes, and not steam?

Know what problems I have with Steam? Allow me to walk you through a day that happens more than it should.

*click play*
"Steam is too busy to handle this request"

Ok, I'll start it in offline mode then,

*tries to start steam in offline mode*
"Steam cannot connect to the internet to complete this request. Please make sure your connection is good and try again"

FUCK YOU! I want to start in offline mode, why the fuck do I need to connect to the internet for that to happen? That kind of defeats the fucking purpose of an offline mode.

*finally gets Steam in offline mode, after connecting it to the internet*
*clicks play*
"Steam cannot complete this process in offline mode"
*me raging*

*Starts playing Fallout which he bought from Good old Games while cursing Steam for not being this easy*

I have NEVER had this problem unless I'm trying to play tf2 right after major update (ie. engie update), wherupon I flip my download area over to Singapore and carry on. I blame your computer/intertubes.

Delete everything in your steam folder, aside from the Steam and Steamapps folders, and Steam.exe. Then run Steam and let it update. Works like a charm.

Well thats just awesome for you. But this problem has persisted for over six years on multiple internet connections ranging from dial-up to DSL, and computers ranging from 5 year old laptops to top-of-the-line hardware.

Its a problem with Steam, and its very, very annoying.

Reinstall or format your PC or get a new one.

I've never had a problem with Steam.... ever. Maybe chek your internet connection or something. And the only time it ever crashed on me is, once in every great while when I close a game or Steam itself it will time out.
