I bought a second hand PS2 slim a few months ago and borrowed a few of games off of my friends. Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory, Kingdom Hearts, Jak and Dexter, and Hitman: Blood Money. Now while my choices of games is irrelevant, the fact that these aren't mine, is. Because when I tried to play Hitman, it didn't work after a couple of times. Why could this be? Ah, maybe it was just getting old. Maybe it was just bad luck. I don't know. The other games worked fine so we assumed it wasn't important. Later though, yesterday in fact, I bought Persona 3. I ADORE it. I was completely surprised I found such a gem at EB games and I played it for half the day. Today though, I realised it wasn't working properly. I couldn't get into the game like I normally would. The problem? MY PS2 scratches the disks! Apparently the bloody laser ribbon cable doodad is buggered and so when the laser moves to read the disk, it bumps up and scratches the disk. I'd post the rage face right now but that can in no way express the anger I feel at myself. It's the first game I've gotten excited about in a long time.

Sigh...

TLDR:

What are a few hardware problems that have occurred throughout your gaming experiences?
Damaged disks, dropped consoles and cracked DS screens are all welcome!
