Before start, I have to point out; I AM going to buy Mass Effect 2. Probably the day it comes out, and I'll love it. My problem is this. The last time I played the original, I had intentionally been playing the game as a pure Renegade, which goes against some of the decisions I would have prefered. The game will be out very soon and I don't know if I have enough much time I have to fix the world before before it comes out.

Well my problem with Mass Effect 1 was I didn't like the way that if I wanted to go through the entire game (all side quests), you have to spend over half the game talking to people instead of shooting the place up. I'm hoping for more action this time around.

you CAN start a new game of ME2 without importing your save, and will probably have some of the major options available to you to choose at the beginning.

And in any case, the CHARACTER options, such as class, skills, weapons, armor etc don't carry over, so just play through it quickly on Easy to unlock the continuity you want, the game doesn't come out for 15 days.

It's a Bioware game, all of their RPGs are similarly "talking heavy". It's part of their charm actually. Mass Effect was actually pretty Action Packed when compared to games like KOTOR or Jade Empire

You can start a new game if you want. The only thing that carries over is your appearance and certain decisions you made, not your skills, because of the completely redesigned skill trees and combat elements.

That makes it all the more interesting.
The real problem is that there are no Melee weapons.

If you have any other save files, you can import them instead.

Yeah I know but I really liked the game. I never really played Jade Empire I think I'll pick it up next weekend.

you don't need melee weapons, Biotic Charge plus Shotgun, done. xD

Yeah, though, we don't know exactly all the things going through when importing our save file. We know levels, gear, and skills won't transfer, but I wonder about paragon/renegade(which I really liked in the first game, because even it wasn't a PURE morality system, I had Paragon full and Renegade quite high as well.) and I also wonder if you'll be able to change your looks at all, since one trait has annoyed the hell out of my since ME one... damn you cheekbone width... they probably will, since they let you change just about everything else, even your class when starting with a loaded save.

It only takes about 6-8 hours to blast through the game on Easy if you avoid sidequests. You have 2 weeks to get 8 hours of playtime in. That seems pretty easy to me.
