As you gaze at the stars you must realize that you are often seeing that star as it was in the distant past. As light travels you are just now seeing stars that may have already burnt out. But, what if you were able to travel back to the stars and look back at Earth? You could see into the past. Maybe it isn't true time travel, but I always found this interesting.

You might be looking into the past (so to speak) once you got far enough a way, several light years at least. Because the star light thing works both ways.

Technically you're seeing everything as it was a split second ago, at it takes a short time for the light to reflect from an object into your eyes, and another minute time for your brain to process the image.

It's not really time traveling, more like watching a movie. From very, very, very far away...

Looking at stars isn't really time travel. It'd be more like... past looking-at. That doesn't stop it from being interesting though
