Shadow of the Collosus: Amazingly immersive and without a doubt the most difficult boss fights i have ever had to fight.

Final Fantasy 7: Bring it on haters! I loved this game, sure it is massively overrated but i loved it because i could actually connect with the characters and thought the plot was very immersive. Also, Sephiroth.

American Mcgee's Alice: Awesome game with amazing graphics, creative reimagening and something that should definitely be made into a movie. Combat sucked though.

Portal: The cake is a lie

Ico: My favorite game, i was 11 when i played a demo, for fifteen minutes, that demo was better than anything else i had played and inspired me to search for the game until i found it. Probably the most immersive game ever made.

My top favorites, and the worst game of all time is Too Human, i don't even think i need to say why.

What about God of War (either 1 or 2)? Have you played that? The Team Ico games mean you have a PS2, so you HAVE to have played them if you have one, right? Was the combat, story and level design not epic enough? I understand this is your opinion, but you need to make it either top 10 or add some honorable mentions here, because whild I've only played 2/5, the Alice game is based off the movie I belive, but how good was the gameplay that it outshadowed the bad combat?

Sorry, I think you could use a little more explinations to what makes them your top 5

Fair enough.
A list you shall have!

5)Viva Pinata, which I enjoyed because...do I honestly have to explain myself again?
4)Whiplash as it was a totally new idea and was pretty good, even though it got average reviews.
3)Fallout 3, just for the atmosphere and the chills I got while playing it for the first time.
2)L4D 1+2 as it is the most fun I've had in Local Split-Screen in years.
1)FF X as it is my favourite of the FF series that I have played and that is VII to X-2.

Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory - Best coop ever, great story & gameplay.

Age of Empires 2 - Probably the best RTS ever. Period.

Unreal Tournament GOTY - The best multiplayer FPS, played it for ages (yeah, better than q3 or cod)

Diablo 2 - The best hack'n'slash ever conceived by man. Torchlight got pretty close with the fun factor but in the long run diablo is still king. Waiting for Diablo 3...

Heroes of Might and Magic 5 (Tribes of the East speciffically)- Face it, Homm 3 is simply outdated, and the fifth installment brings fresh ideas (eg. - two-way creature tier branching system)

Actually, they were difficult. Because they weren't you standard fight. Each Collossus had a unique way of defeating it, and the same strategy that took down one would work on the next. It wasn't that it was hard in the "needs to be a master at the game" kind of hard, but a hard in the sense that it wasn't for someone younger. Tell me that the one you had to hit the things on it's head wasn't something easy to figure out. What made the game so fabulous was it's ability to make you see things from a slight clue of something else. The world was epic huge and required management to get from the starting temple to the destination, and once at the fight, you had to use the environment and what it gave you to win. Miss one detail and it was the difference between win and fail

5. SSBB. even though theres 4 extremely overpowered characters (Pit, Snake, MK and Pikachu), this game probably holds the record for making me laugh the most.

4. Dawn of War: Dark Crusade. the graphics were top-notch for 2006 (only toppled by Titan Quest, which is also a THQ game), Gorgutz is downright hilarious and the gameplay is among the top.

3. Age of Mythology. extremely good story, no typos or wrong facts about the different mythologies and some amazing voicework. and the game pretty much ripped me loose from WoW for a few months, and i still play it to this day.

2. Titan Quest. great plot, again no mythological problems, gameplay 5 times better than Diablo and some ridicolously awesome bosses.

1. Heroes of Might and Magic 3. everything about this game is done right. infinitely fun gameplay that never grows old, great story(ies if you had the expansion packs), masterpiece soundtrack and absolutely no glitches whatsoever.

Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver- One of the biggest, most fun, and simply greatest games I have ever played. The gameplay is fun, the music is atmospheric and wonderful, the plotline is hugely compelling, and the voice acting is the best I have ever heard. It is one of the few games in which I have actually cared about the characters. Plus, there's a boss made of dead people who you kill by dropping a meat grinder on him.

Metal Gear Solid 4- The thrilling conclusion to possibly my favourite series of all. It is basically just a love letter to all the fans, crammed with inside jokes and self-reference. Plus, I love the combination of long cutscenes and fast paced gameplay.

Bayonetta- Oh hells yes. Just a bloody good bit of fun. Bonkers plotline, bonkers weaponry, everything is just ape-shit crazy. The combat is some of the best I've ever experienced, and in my eyes, it superceeds Devil May Cry 3, and I didn't think that was possible.

Super Robot Wars Alpha 3: So many robots shooting lasers at one another at high speeds. Turn based strategy at its finest.

Starcraft: Goddamnit, it redefined the genre. Plot line was gripping, missions were fun, characters were deep and complex, and the plot twists were genuinely surprising.

... How many games have you played?

Anyway, I'll indulge in creating a list, but would like to say this forum hates list threads and you really hsould put up a link to that 3rd game, as I've never heard of it.
okami- Graphical style and game mechanics were awesome, as were all the characters lovable and endearing.
oblivion- An aboslute time sink. I love this game. Dungeon crawling, murdering, saving an empire... Oh it's great.
Supermario bros3- My child hood, right there.
Devil may cry 3- The only DMC I've managed to beat. I played it first then wanted to go back to DMC 1. The lack of certain mechanics in the games between the two made me love DMC3. It just rocks.
Rome total war- My favorite strategy game ever. The modding community is great(which pretty much means, "hey, the engine works pretty well") I love building Rome from humble roots to its imperial glory. or smash it to smitherings in the viking invasion expansion.

I'm not sure what the discussion is - and I almost feel you could've added a little more to you reasoning.

But I guess I'm just old-fashioned -.-
I'm sure you have to look at the title and make the words make sense in your brain, but then I guess I'm old-fashioned as well. Here's a hint "My Top Five Games" try reading that to yourself and then answer the question in a reply. Here, i'll go first:

1. Lunar 2
2. CoD:MW2
3. Diablo II
4. Medieval: Total War
5. FF VII
