Hey guys,

First I'd like to say this is not an advertisement to the site and I have no intention of promoting it in this way.

Now let's get to business, I've had this site for a while and every now and then I make a comic. I don't have a strict deadline for each comic so sometimes they come twice a day or twice a month depending on my mood.

I've been told by family that the comics are funny but the site isn't very attractive or appealing, so I as my fellow escapists to help me out with some ideas.

The site is linked on my profile so that I do not upset the mods :D

Give me your worst, I need it.

Thanks for your input. Ideas I don't run out of. It's the SITE itself that I kind of need help on, need to make it more flashy and web 2.0 or something.

Nice comic, how long have you been drawing these? As for the website design I think you should move the search bar below the navigation bar, it sort of gets in the way. And it could use an easier link to an archive, such as licd: http://leasticoulddo.com/archive/calendar

And maybe a change of the colour scheme? But to be honest, it looks like it's pretty much there.

watch advertisement on tv or play videogames. some are pretty stupid and therefore funny.

try to make a parody of stuff you saw.

and when you are still out of ideas, try to improve your artwork.
it would be funnier if you pointed out that the one who brought the box was the one putting 20 dollars inside.(use colours!)

or just steal some like family guy does.
You make a joke about family guy stealing jokes but fail to notice that the very example you posted was stolen. It's a reasonably common logic puzzle. So Mr. Comic Writer, my suggestions for improvement is to write your own jokes dammit.

well, an archive button would help people find comics they like. an 'about' page could be good (answering FAQs, explaining the site/comic, listing inspirations, plans for the future if any)webcomic sites tend not to be overcomplicated.
if you decided to run a connected series at some point (ie a slice of life) then character pages would definitely help. but at the moment, you dont need much else.

To do list:

Spice up the colors.
Character sheet.
Archive.
Reposition search bar to better location.
Mascot.

The thing with the shitty drawings is kind of the point behind my comic, that they are freehand with little corrections. But maybe I need to invest in a better drawing style.

Guys thanks for your input it really helps.

What about a Facebook and twitter buttons etc?

I've been drawing them for a long time but on my notebooks, the site has only been up for a few months.

Yeah you really really have to get rid of all that grey. It doesn't matter what you do. You could (and I would) put adverts for something there, perhaps Happiness and Cyanide since your style is similar enough but something has to be done about that feild of I want to shoot myself grey.

What do you draw them with? I've been thinking of making some myself, but don't really know where to start.

Social media buttons are a good thing to add in moderation, and easy as hell to put in. Just don't overkill it with about 20/30 of them like so many sites do these days.

Most of your comics aren't that great and feel somewhat like xkcd wanabe, but in all fairness there are a few good ones.

I especially loved this one.

Mouseover Text: "Clearly one of them is not happy."

If all of them had this sense of wit I'd be a happy weekly reader of your comic.

Have you ever heard of Inkscape? Its a free vector drawing program that could give your comic a bit more of a polished look fairly easily.

Still, I find that simple is usually good, unless you're going for a narrative in your webcomic. And in that case, you as an artist have room to grow.

The best thing you can honestly do for a webcomic is be prolific.

I personally like the way the characters are drawn. I like the simplicity of it, personally. Some of the jokes are kind of corny (Mrs. Cow and Mrs. Monkey comes to mind), but I love this one:

I've always been a fan of perverse humor like that! XD

I think it's fine, to be honest. I think the art style, while simple, is good. However, it won't hurt to change it and upgrade it to look more professional. Just try and stay away from the corny gags, is my only suggestion.

Just Photoshop, and everything is freehand. As for the buttons, I think Facebook/G+/Twitter are more than enough don't you think?

I have a huge amount of ideas in my head, and usually they are pretty corny'ish, but I see what you mean in regards to the wit factor, after all that IS what makes a successful comic.

Yeah, that sounds like a good amount, plus they're the main important ones.
