So two days after I got Xenoblade (TWO) my Wii stopped reading discs. I've been thinking about waiting till the Wii U, but I might get just get my Wii fixed. I'm wondering, where do the consoles and stuff get sent to get fixed in Canada? Because the repair in total should cost $107.35. If I send it in, I'm sending late in the the first week of June, because I don't want to be distracted from exams. So should I send it in or wait for Wii U?

Wouldnt it be cheaper to buy one used?. Don't know about Canada but here in Blighty you can get replacement consoles (without cables etc) for about 30 quid and about 50 with everything if you know where to look

I have a lot of Rockband DLC, which can't be transfered.

Would it not still be cheaper to just buy the DLC again?

Not when you have hundreds of songs.

Shouldn't you be able to transfer over purchased content to another console?

Not on a Nintendo console.

If you want to transfer downloadables on Nintendo systems, you basically have to beg Nintendo customer service to do it for you.

That's really the only way how?

Ouch, really?

I just read a topic from a nintendo forum and that sucks hardcore. They should really consider connecting it via accounts rather than locking it on the console itself.

Remember that this is Nintendo we're talking about. Stuff like this isn't exactly their forte

I find that there is nothing in this world more valuable than a well used Wii. And I don't even care that I was essentially ninja'd on this comment, I'm making it anyway.

Wait wait wait wait. Before you do anything. I wanna know if you ever bought one of these:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Nintendo-RVLALS-Lens-Cleaning-Kit/dp/B001GZT1UI/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1334992857&sr=8-1

I had trouble with my Wii only reading Xenoblade on and off for my playthrough. Worked fine with Zelda. Then noticed a few others it was iffy with (Metroid Trilogy, Brawl) and come Last Story it wouldn't read these at all. Bought this as a suggestion, cleaned the lens a few times and it works perfectly. (it said only do it once but I had to do it two or three times before it cleaned it fully) I'd certainly recommend it over rushing out to buy a new console (as temping as the awesome known as Xenoblade is)

Personally I would certainly consider cleaning yourself over sending it in to nintendo/buying a new console. fingers crossed it'll work for you too.

Yeah, if you don't wanna get rid of it (I feel your pain with the DLC stuff), then find ways to fix it. I'd say check on eBay. I've seen people offering repair services and stuff. I've never used them myself, but yeah. It's a choice.

It happened to me before, I'd forgotten about asking to transfer the downloaded data, they did it without asking. Though this was the European Nintendo...

Or maybe it's something to do with the fact that there's 90 million of the things so they're not worth that much. CEX is selling them boxed for £50.
