nah, my original theory was that all the birds flew into the cloaked alien space ships, but now that crabs are in on it I'm not so sure
Cloaked landships are getting the crabs
Genius! Pure. Fucking. Genius.

Now I will begin writing my conspiracy theories.

by the way, anyone who knows marble hornets, it takes place in arkansas. coincidence? I think not
Dear god it all makes sense now...

I blame Canada! They've been too quiet for too long!

I imagine its just a new disease, although by the amount of animal deaths, and complete lack of human deaths, I have to say I'm not to scared at this point.
So your not worried about potential ecosystem collapses?

All of these birds are falling from the sky after experiencing blunt force trauma?

The kind that would show up in an autopsy if you hit the ground shortly after dying from something completely different?

Sure!

Mass deaths aren't a new thing. They occur more often than you might think. If I was going to get worked up about these incidents, then I'd have to be freaking out about many other ones as well which are arguably much worse.

Anyways, this all purely coincidence. Still, it's all very sad. Particularly the crabs. I have a soft spot for crabs, so seeing that many lifeless corpses littering the shore is just depressing.

A new mutation of a Virus would by best bet, it has to be some kind of pathogen/parasite at least.

New to this board but decided I would throw my 2 cents in. I don't know if this could be considered connected and it is a few years old but anyone remember hearing stories about honeybee's Colony Collapse Disorder? As someone made a reference to M. Night Shaymalan earlier it connected in my head. In the movie the Happening they talked about the Honeybees dying off. That is actually true and we are still experiencing massive losses of honeybees to this day. Here's something from PBS that dives talks about this subject:

http://www.pbs.org/wnet/nature/episodes/silence-of-the-bees/introduction/38/

Also it was about this time in 08 that not a single tree along the Northeastern seaboard produced an acorn. This caused a massive kill of squirrels who were starving to death because they had nothing to eat. I remember reading on some discussion boards that people were seeing squirrels resort to carnivorous ways attacking birds and mice and even cannibalistic ways to feed themselves. Who knows? Are these connected as well? Here's an article from CNN that talks about the problem.

This happened last year just wasn't big in the news. New Year's fireworks. Yup. They get the shit scared out of them, take-off, then fly around till their little birdie hearts go pop. T T
...and the crabs? Also, why don't we hear the same thing on Canada Day?

Look, it's obviously something, but it's likely nothing to be worried about. There has to be a logical explanation beyond "it's a coincidence."
Looking for a meaning to a random occurrence is a gateway to speculation. Facts are what are required to move forward... We just don't have them all yet!

As this troper's father said when he first read, and the fish? The fish didn't die from heart attacks too, did they? All over the world? Right, sure.
What? Sorry, but that made no sense to me... Thought we were talking about the U.S., U.K., & Sweden. I cannot comment on the world!

Otherwise... you must be living in a delightful paranoia! We went from air to water. Who'd thunk it?
