I enjoy Mythbuster because they basically do what I've wanted to test myself. My favorite being, "do plants have feelings?"

I really love mythbusters but I am very scornful of the large amount of goofing off and focusing on myths with large explosions in over abundance. The problem? There is too much! While it is good to see some goofyness and explosions, seeing them all the time decensitizes you to it thus it loses its appeal. They need to moderate.
You say that like it's a bad thing.

The "Bug Bomb" myth. I knew the restaurant that really was blown up by them using to many bug bombs. I cycled past the restaurant every week day when going to school, Not really mythbusting when it was already known the be fact. Still was very intresting.

Exploding hot water heater's my favorite.

I'm a bit of a science geek. I used to watch it with a friend who's dumb as a box of rocks, but she enjoyed it just as much as I did.

My mind was blown when the scanner had a strong reaction to Tory's destructive thoughts towards the plant. They chocked it up to random vibrations throwing off the machine when they couldn't get it to happen again. IF the plant could feel his intentions, why couldn't it think "He thought about killing me once, & nothing happened, so I won't worry about him the 2nd & 3rd time he thinks about killing me"? It wouldn't even have to have intelligence to be like that. Simple desensitization could do it.

You know in those cartoons and old war movies, the enemy throws the grenade and the soldier jumps on it with his helmet covering it to shelter the blast? Would that work? Maybe he would die, but would it shelter it enough to keep his teammates alive?

I like the show. Not enough to have a favorite, but it is entertaining to watch.
Actually it's not just cartoons, current day military still does that, including an American Army Medic who did that when a grenade landed next to him and his patient, blew his stomach and intestines right out, but saved his life since the helmet absorbed a major part of the impact (and prevented him from becoming confetti). Not sure how they saved his life though, crazy stuff.

As for MythBusters, damn I love that show. But as a previous posted stated: When the shit hits the fan episode was just... wrong. But I forgave them with the Tornado watcher's car vs 747 Engines episode.

Either the episode where Torry tries to jump his bike over a red wagon or when they test the myth of "beer before liquor, never sicker" and he tackles a lazyboy. I'm pretty sure he is the comic relief of the show.

I like Mythbusters. It's a fun bit of television and they do some cool things. My favourite Myth tested so far is when they tested if jumping in a falling elevator will save your life, cos that was question I pondered myself.

I love it. And I have to go with the XKCD strip. Unscientific my ass.

Best is the Moon landing episode. After that is the ever awesome anything involving hot water heaters going off!

One of my favorite shows. I forgot the best myth, but they are all good. To our non Stater(USA) Escapists, do you have access to Mythbusters or something like it?

My personal favourite is when they fired a steel blade into a car at 700 mph. I forget why.

Also, Kari Byron is really hot. That helps.

I used to watch the repeats on Quest, then I realised there weren't that many of them.

Then they stopped showing them.

Fuck you, Quest!

Yeah, I enjoy the show and want to see more.

Considering that men have acquired the medal of honor fr doing just that... But you know... they coudl be just making it up... Because people would make that shit up... More htan once.. To get teh nation's highest honor... Yep. Personally I believe it but you know.. they might as well do it. You shoudl head over to tehir discoverychannel forums and suggest it and othe rmilitary myths.

Adam and Jamie were just in Washington D.C. for Jon Stewart's rally. They warmed up the crowd by having them do "the wave" to see if people reacted like a real wave. They asked us to jump at the same time and measured the result with a seismometer. There were 215,000 of us. They thought it might be the world record for the largest sample group in one place.

The best bet with Quest is to try it on Sunday, they sometimes show it throughout the afternoon. but they only have the first few seasons which annoy me.

one of my favorites that I could think of right now is the matchstick head as cannon fuel, that shot really far. I would have liked the lego ball one too if it didn't fall apart halfway through it's test run.

That would make some sense there. Maybe plants are smarter than we think they are....
