I don't set my PVR to record them and I think it's been at least a year since I watched an episode. And I also turned off Discovery channel because I wasn't watching it and the package wasn't worth it. But I really, really like the show. They make me jealous of their jobs.

While I love Mythbusters I hate, HATE the acting. It's fucking awful when they try to casually talk to each other and it sounds scripted and cheesy. Just be natural, it used to be way less cheesy!

I like the show. But you can tell how fake the acting is when they are thinking of an idea, which kinda ruins the mood when your thinking of their next idea

Mythbusters is the one show I might consider watching on television these days. Of course, I don't bother because the show isn't worth the cost of paying for cable or what have you. Instead, I used to just buy the boxed sets whenever I could find them. Then I got Netflix and realized that the future was now and I could just watch mythbusters whenever I wanted.

You know in those cartoons and old war movies, the enemy throws the grenade and the soldier jumps on it with his helmet covering it to shelter the blast? Would that work? Maybe he would die, but would it shelter it enough to keep his teammates alive?

I like the show. Not enough to have a favorite, but it is entertaining to watch.
Actually it's not just cartoons, current day military still does that, including an American Army Medic who did that when a grenade landed next to him and his patient, blew his stomach and intestines right out, but saved his life since the helmet absorbed a major part of the impact (and prevented him from becoming confetti). Not sure how they saved his life though, crazy stuff.

As for MythBusters, damn I love that show. But as a previous posted stated: When the shit hits the fan episode was just... wrong. But I forgave them with the Tornado watcher's car vs 747 Engines episode.
Oh, I didn't know that, thanks! I've always wondered if it works and now I know. If I'm ever in such a situation, I will not hesitate to cover said grenade =]

Kari, Grant, and Tory were at my college a week ago. It was amazing. Most of it was just reminiscing about certain myths, but they're quite good at playing off each other and burning each other and themselves. Grant even referenced the Old Spice "Man you could smell like" commercials, and it was epic.

Mythbusters is one of the few TV shows I watch anymore.

1. They are currently in the midst of a 21 hour Mythbusters marathon.

2. Mythbusters is the only show I watch.

3. My eyes are bleeding.

Test: Explain how all three are related.
I missed it... I think I'm going to cry.

It's not the force of the explosion that kills you, it's the shrapnel. That's why the old WW2 ones look like pineapples...

I really enjoy Mythbusters. My favorite myth has to be when they tested the dive helmet myth. To see if what happens when a dive suit is depressurized.

I fuckin' love Mythbusters. My favourite episode was the one where they tested a heap of moon landing conspiracy theories.

Also this. I noticed that it is happening to TopGear too which is kinda lame as that it the most watched TV show in the world for a reason.

I really love mythbusters but I am very scornful of the large amount of goofing off and focusing on myths with large explosions in over abundance. The problem? There is too much! While it is good to see some goofyness and explosions, seeing them all the time decensitizes you to it thus it loses its appeal. They need to moderate.
You say that like it's a bad thing.
It is a bad thing! There is too much thus you cannot appreciate it when it happens. It is like eating candy all day for a week. Not very pleasent.
