With this flu addling my brain(...more than usual) and this boredom seeping in, I've been thinking(usually a bad thing) but what do you suppose mythical creatures taste like and how you would prepare them?
How would a dragon steak taste?
What kind of kick does a jackalope have?
How much magic is in unicorn meat?
How high heat to cook salamander?

This is mostly a topic for fun so feel free to add connoisseur styled food taste review, faux recipes and even storing and butchering techniques.

On topic: I'm thinking of the cockatrice. They say snakes taste like chicken anyway so maybe a snake-chicken hybrid will probably have double the chicken-y taste. I reckon that it will taste rather great if prepared well as long as you don't mind feeling a bit stoned later.
Though, I imagine passing those stones will be a right pain in the-
Should this be here or in the forum games section?

Chicken. they all taste like chicken.

Also, I would HOPE the salamander was self cooking. ;)

From that page:

For other uses, see Salamander (disambiguation).

Salamanders are not mythical themselves, but over the centuries they've had mythical qualities attributed to them. Like fire immunity.

OT:
Dragon steak?: I think dragon steak would taste like pork.
Jackalope?: I imagine it would taste like rabbit.
Unicorn meat?: Probably tastes like horse meat.
Salamander?: People eat salamanders. Tastes like any other lizard. i.e. like chicken.

Phoenix might taste like pheasant/partrige, or possibly like duck. Also I like to think that if they existed, someone would have invented a way for them to roast themselves :p

Also, I want Kraken sashimi :D
