N64 Emulator

Why can't you guys legally purchase games? I really have a problem with the "its old so I can steal it" mentality.

Well, I am broke, so there's that, and I don't actually have a TV anymore, so console gaming is pretty much out of the question for me.

I believe a moment of silence is in order for your N64.

Okay, he's probably going to wreck it because no one tells him to blow into the cartridges if they don't work, but that's still better than nothing, right?

The Emu's have already been suggested, but why not flEabay another N64, they go for (almost) nothing. Either keep it for yourself or rescue your old one from your cousin and give him the replacement.

Try ebay even. I would assume if your mum gave the console to your cousin, she would have given him the games (surely it would be useless otherwise) and so its illegal for you to download roms of games you don't have anyway.

A few years back I wouldn't have had a problem with that because you couldn't buy new N64 games anyway, but because the Wii has its virtual console now, there are other options for getting old games so there's no excuse for piracy.

I'm sure you'd be singing a different story had it been your 64 with all your games given away after you had bought them.

I'm pretty sure you're wrong, because if it had been my N64 then I would either get it back or let my mum know she has to fork over the money to buy another one, which as I said are not that expensive neither are the games from what I've seen.

Its not Nintendo's fault that his Mum has no respect for his property, just like its not their fault if it got destroyed in a fire. If a game is old and unavailable (or available second hand from someone who either took crap all care of it or has it in mint condition and charges twice as much for it as its original cost) then I can see it as an excuse for piracy, not this however.

I couldn't get project 64 to work on my Mac, not sure why. Anyways, there's an emulator called SixtyForce that works really really well. You're on your own for the ROMs though, I'm not sure if the mods would be too please if I posted a link to the website I use.

You can buy new games on Amazon. They have tons of suppliers with N64 games.

They're not going to make any money off any of this situation anyway if he buys it all used, so I'm not sure where nintendo will benefit from his mom giving all of his stuff away.
