ALTERNIA, OFC!

Ok maybe not... I'm not good at names. How about:

- The Misfit Gang
- The Lemon Haters
- Coitus Revolvers

All these are purely random, and should really not be taken seriously. XD

Fellow Escapists!
I have been in a alternative rock band which is what I would describe a cross between Radiohead and Bloc party (but nowhere near as good as either)and we are having a hard time coming up with a name for our band.
I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions?
Please only give names that you wouldn't mind us using.
Cheers Guys,
FordyDudeGuy
My suggestion:

Hate & Misery.

I can't possibly offer an apt name for your band based on who you say you sound like using words. I'd have to hear the band, unless you want a name completely unrelated to your sound and themes, which is common anyway. I have heard that the Smashing Pumpkins name came from a joke, and I have absolutely no idea beyond that what the name means, but I love it anyway. Nine Inch Nails, contrary to what you've likely heard, has absolutely nothing to do with the nails used to crucify Jesus and, if I may nerd out on you for a bit: 1. They were roughly six inches long (inches didn't exist in 32 AD) and if they'd actually nailed his hands the weight of his body would've torn free. They nailed the wrists when crucifying people. What were we talking about? Oh! Right. Trent Reznor just kept the name because it passed what he called the 2-week test. Personally, when I hear the name Radiohead (a band I absolutely adore) I think it sounds dumb, but when associated with them it somehow sounds perfect. So I said all of this rambly bullshit to say: I dunnoh.

Also, you should be wary of saying that your band sounds like Radiohead, Tool, or Rage Against the Machine, ever, because for about six years every uncreative member/manager of every crappy band likened their respective bands to these guys (and again, they are indescribably great), and you wouldn't want to be like those bands. . .

So say you sound like a cross between Linkin Park and Tom Waits! Or DethKlok and Abba! Or John Williams and a digeridoo!

Funguy is too tired/lazy to go to dictionary.com or google and look up the proper spelling of "digerido." What do you want from me? I named my avatar "funguy."
