Name that PS1 game

I noticed someone else's post and realised that this would be the ideal place to ask if anyone remembers this game:

It was a robot fighting game for the PS1. You designed your robot from a limited number of parts and then went into battle in a 3D arena. If you won, you could choose one of your opponent's parts as a prize. The weapons that I always remember were a punching arm (the hand was simply a white ball) and grapple that you could shoot out to pull opponents in.

I've hunted secondhand game stores for years and never found it.

Hmm it sounds a lot like the Custom Robo series, though I don't think that series ever had any titles for the PS1, maybe look into similar games to Custom Robo as a starting point? Sorry I can't be of more help, I never really played the PS1.

I'm pretty sure hat's one of the custom Robo games, though I can be wrong..it's been awhile. And if you can't find it at second hand stores, I'd suggest Amazon. Or if you go to conventions, there's always booths that sell older games.
