While Rango is getting popular reviews by critics and people alike, is it really a movie to rival Pixar? Many believe so, and here's where you can voice your opinions on the matter.

Me? I saw the movie and though the animation was some of the best I have ever seen I believe this quote from Wikipedia (which in turn quotes Michael Phillups) expresses my views.
("In one of the few negative reviews, Michael Phillips of the Chicago Tribune acknowledged its "considerable care and craft" but called it "completely soulless" and that watching it "with a big suburban preview audience was instructive. Not much laughter. Moans and sobs of pre-teen fright whenever Rattlesnake Jake slithered into view, threatening murder.")

This movie was not meant for kids, and whatever jackass thought to market to them should be fired. Its not all that dark or weird as people say, but kids aren't going to get, or enjoy, what they see.

Also although I enjoy Westerns, I'm not a fan of them. I know that this movie appeals to that crowd, but to people like me and my friends who are 'meh' about Westerns it doesn't impress us that way.

The movie deals with Rango's emotional and mental state because of his new situation and the lack of water, which causes visions. Later on though, they completely break the laws and purposes of visions in a giant cop out.
