I find myself needing a name for a Golem. It's better if you don't ask why. *stares dramatically into the middle-distance*

However, I have no idea what kinds of names Golems would have. Objects? Good old-fashioned British names? I just thought of a walking clay/stone/metal automaton with a monocle and top hat!
If you want a fancy-but-moderately-obscure reference, go with Talus. He's the metal groom/bodyguard of the wandering knight Artegal in Spenser's epic poem, "The Faerie Queene." Pretty much half the Artegal cantos consist of Talus ripping motherfuckers.

Some sort of basal description might be more beneficial than just saying "I need a name for a thing."

I'd go with Pump 19, having recently read Going Postal again.

Personally, when looking for names I tend to raid cross country skiing, biathlon and ski jumping. However its best to avoid Jakov Fak and Andreas Wank for obvious reasons.

Schlamazael or Schlemiel for traditional golems, depending on whether he spills soup or has soup spilled on him. For a flesh golem you can't go past Fleshy.

You should name it Blimey, so that commanding it makes you sound a little bit British.

look up some orthodox hebrew names. they're foreign enough to not sound ridiculous, but also not as stupid as names you make up yourself (not to insult you, made-up names that ANYONE makes are usually just terrible)

You could call him Dorfl. Make sure you bake him a tongue though. He's no slave either, Dorfl works for a living.
I have to agree, it's the only possible name. If it's a dog golem then Gaspode is also acceptable.

"We can rebuild him. We have the pottery."

I was going to suggest this. You could also go with Gladys.

Hmm... how about Arkatem. I dunno what it means, I literally came up with it 8 seconds ago.
