There are a lot of things that Get on my nerves when playing a video Game but they could not be changed.

For example...

In the recent NHL Games by EA the hit stick and the shot stick are the same thing. This can be trouble when I?m in front of the net and I go to shoot a loose puck but instead you hit some pour guy and get an interference call.

Now this is a flaw in the game but it is necessary because the hit stick and shot stick are both excellent innovations in a hockey game

Another example would be rocket launchers in combat games... Some players can use those to really cheap effects

but can you really take rocket launchers take out of a combat game

What are some other necessary evils in the games you play?

Halo 3's community.
While it is terrible, Halo itself can be immensely fun, especially with friends.

Yeah, you probably could, because that means a billion people aren't going to scramble for it at match start and abuse it. And use less explosive weapons that keep the balance from being too tipped.

For me, it's gotta be boss fights that have a repetitive pattern. Sure he has to be beatable, but simply falling into a rhythm that does not change at all gets dull. I want the most epic parts of the game to surprise me.

Making grenades unrealistically weak in most games also makes them less cheap. The only game I've played where grenades feel suitably powerful is far cry 2. They have a huge blast radius and the explosion tears leaves off trees and leaves crap flying everywhere. It's the best part of the game.

People with:

A: Terrible headsets that make it sound like their voice went through a blender.
B: People who have their microphone sensitivity so loud that I can hear everything and everyone in their environment, including hearing the echo of their T.V.
C: People who yell, scream, sing, or otherwise abuse the right of speech over their headset.

Other then that I don't have any complains worth acknowledging.

I've had the exact same problem with NHL, but agree it's been a great innovation to the series. One thing that I can't stand is how in games like MW2 you can just toss grenades half way across the map and get a completely random kill, especially because I'm generally on the recieving end of said grenade.
