Ok, so Xprimentyl, Neurotic Void Melody, and I got into a music trading thing over in the One Hit Wonders thread. And I was getting so into it that I felt we needed just a video trading thread. Music is awesome. You're all awesome. Let's get into it.

All I ask is that you just say the Genre of music videos in groupings so people can enjoy genres they like or try something they were interested in.

Now that said.

Neurotic Void Melody said:
Monophona - Thumb This one, damn, it burrowed deep.
Zhong Chi - I can't hide
Port Electric - Pollution
Canidas - Hold Has a note that repeats like a softer sounding heart monitor on life support, to these ears anyway.
Zero 7 - When it falls Usually vocals with their other tracks, but this instrumental is like a sensual massage of various pleasing vibrations.
Mattafix - Freeman
Morcheeba - Slowdown
Black Chamber - Other Days
Tor - Glass and Stone
Ours Samplus - Over
Alright, better stop there before getting all carried away again!
Gentleperson, you had Morcheeba and didn't put Part of the Process [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qQWZrDH5X8o] (Downtempo) up? Also known as the song that I was listening to when I was writing my Firefly Fanfic.

Browncoat for life.

This will be my Trip-hop/DownTempo mix for you and Xprimentyl. I normally follow [Band Name - "Song Title"] as that's what I use to keep my music organized.

(Trip-hop/DownTempo)

-Slow Train Soul - "I want you to Love Me" [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mt-tAglsgw8]

-Gramatik - "No Way Out" [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vrVuGiKRVDU] Fun fact, I play this song when I just want to strut where ever I go.

-Lamb - "Gabriel" [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qiHxxp2GyuY] I have yet to hear a song that has matched a feeling of longing as this one. I love it.

-Grasscut - "Muppet (Nathan Fake Remix)" [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c1kOKQLTZvU]Some of you might remember this as the music that played when you made your character in Saints Row 3.

-Portishead - "Sour Times" [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g7gutsi1uT4] ... you know, I might have been a closet Emo...

Ok, in efforts of not wanting to admit that to myself, I'm switching up the pace. Drum and Bass you say? I got you.

(Drum and Bass)

-First, let's pay homage to our vocal queen, Jenna G: Die featuring Jenna G - "1000 Soul Songs" [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5RV51A-KERo]

-D. Kay & Epsilon - "Barcelona" [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OYMmlMPhzjU]

-Danny Byrd - Golden Ticket (feat. Tanya Lacey)" [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xzciJsHk0UA] Beware that Drop... She's an absolute killer.

-Un-cut & M.I.S.T. - "Midnight (feat. Jenna G)" [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PsPfTYZEzbc] I have to watch out when I'm listening to this song and driving. I just want to race everyone.

-And a chune that I would desparately love to hear at a beach with musically like-minded people: Baron - "Endless Summer" [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=waZsQ1lpiYA]

See? I like fun music too!

It breaks my heart that- just as these threads start popping up, the site's video embedding broke. Being able to one-click everything without opening a new tab was the best thing about these threads.

This is not a fun song, by any means. It is, however, one of the best, if not THE best, music videos I can think of.

That Gramatik track is very relaxing and I dig the hell out of it. I'm looking into them now and I really like what I hear overall.

As for my own suggestions:

(Power Metal)

The genre is known for over the top cheese, and I'm keeping that to a minimum with this list as I feel like people only ever see the cheese.

Blind Guardian - The Bard's Song I can't not sing along to this every single time I hear it.

Blind Guardian - Mirror Mirror Ditto. Blind Guardian is just amazing.

Unleash the Archers - The Matriarch Brittney Hayes can fucking sing.

Elvenking - The Wolves Will Be Howling Your Name I somewhat hesitate to call them power metal. They're a mix of things and toy around with different sounds. But overall I'd say they're mainly power metal with some folk metal thrown in the mix. This track is very evident of that.

Beast in Black - Beast in Black A song dedicated to the Berserk manga. In fact, the whole album this track is on is dedicated to it. Fantastic song, fantastic album.

Avantasia - The Raven Child Genuinely one of the most beautiful pieces of music I've heard this year, if not in several years. Gave me chills and still does. Fucking phenomenal stuff.

Avantasia - Ghost in the Moon Ditto. I couldn't help but recommend both of these tracks. Both blew me away. I swear, every single album they just leave me wondering "how the fuck are they going to top this?" and then they just go and do it.

Gloryhammer - Rise of the Chaos Wizards I said I'd keep the cheese to a minimum, but that doesn't mean I wouldn't throw in one over the top, cheesy as all fuck song. Embrace the cheese, it's glorious.

Ancient Bards - A Greater Purpose When I showed this track to a friend of mine he responded with "this is basically final boss music" and I feel like that's a very apt reaction.

Now lets go in an entirely different direction

(Synthwave)

I realize there are a bunch of subgenres for this, but eh this'll be a mix of things.

Dance with the Dead - Riot Couldn't make a list of this stuff without including them.

Lazerhawk - Distress Signal Ditto. Lazerhawk and Dance with the Dead are my favorites.

The Midnight - Collateral The sax makes this one special.

Miami Nights 1984 - Accelerated I've always felt like they were being rather blunt with that name, but it's good stuff regardless.

Carpenter Brut - Disco Zombie Italia Extremely upbeat and I love it.

I feel like this is going long so I'll stop here. I may make another post with some different genres some point soon.

I always have to recommend Shiina Ringo in these type of threads. If you want to hear instruments being played, you'll hear pretty much everything at some point except like the theremin.

Here's a 3-song "big band" live set of songs [https://vimeo.com/222798814]

Here's another 3-song live set w/ each song being a completely different genre [https://vimeo.com/255141125]; starting with a full orchestra, then straight rock, and some great jazz.

Here's a performance that's straight out of a 50/60s club [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cDC2RVt1mvo].

Shiina also created and fronted the best rock band, Tokyo Jihen [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hTVYWLZRUOo], since the classic rock era between her solo work.

And for fun, the Postmodern Jukebox version of Chip 'n Dale Rescue Rangers [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6FvgtWKejZA]

Well, I'll give you a list of some of my favourite songs, although there are plenty of different styles. As a preamble, I listen mostly to alternative/indie rock/pop: I listened to heavier stuff earlier in life, and later moved towards slower and more folk-y stuff.

Transmission - Joy Division [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6dBt3mJtgJc]
The Perfect Kiss - New Order [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x3XW6NLILqo]
Tame - The Pixies [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mYCZAuhdsl4]
Going To Town - The Afghan Whigs [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-qTH5V2wvM0]
Suds'n'Soda - dEUS [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h3r7Oo0Fs-8]
AM 180 - Grandaddy [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ptPXxAds1Jc]
Seventeen - Ladytron [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s6jaYJx7yeI]
Waitin' For A Superman - The Flaming Lips [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o0AOG7ciuJo]
Carrion - British Sea Power [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qu5AkyifUow]
Poison Cup - M Ward [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZkHRCzZ9YaM]
Kind Of - Lambchop [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g2tO5ylCNzM]
Dancing And Blood - Low [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TzMo-EpWcPA]

Boy, this was tough, but I think this is a nice smattering of the stuff I listen to though it?s FAR from comprehensive.

Plaid ? ?Rakimou? [https://youtu.be/CZybyYp1DqQ] Not a fan of much music with lyrics, but Mara Carlyle?s voice in this is ethereal.
Plaid ? ?Angry Dolphin? [https://youtu.be/z-y07QCc2TI] The end, oooooh, the end?
Orbital ? ?The Girl With The Sun In Her Head? [https://youtu.be/4xc2eNFFvzs] This is the track that opened me up to a wider variety of electronic music; this was my ?gateway? track.
Orbital ? ?Sad But True? [Full Version] [https://youtu.be/bSG_CjcbfKI] You might have heard this track in ?Johnny Pneumonic? if you?re one of the cool kids who actually like that movie.
Autechre ? ?Pir? [https://youtu.be/tZWDeNG1V5A] So mechanical and SO sad.
Autechre ? ?Piezo? [https://youtu.be/WC2d8A191Lo] The ghost in the machine.
Near The Parenthesis ? ?Voice and Radio Bureau? [https://youtu.be/2lSIMhox7Pw] Absolutely beautiful. I paid a professional $60 to transcribe the piano into sheet music for me and it turns out I?d need three hands to play it.
Near The Parenthesis ? ?Good Night? [https://youtu.be/h1DBAY57xFU] Lonely.
Future Sound of London ? ?My Kingdom? [https://youtu.be/INHttEHCZEw] Dark and groovy; this is hard track not to like.
Future Sound of London ? ?Vertical Pig? [https://youtu.be/8TxQwC265bU] Dark and evil; this is a hard track not to envision the violent deaths of your enemies to.
Aphex Twin ? ?Yellow Calx? [https://youtu.be/m9ONNsMJ9IU] Richard D. James is a special guy?
Aphex Twin ? ?On? [https://youtu.be/38RMZ9H7Cg8] Yes, he is.

So, fun fact. I was born in the 80's and I had no idea that was that style of music official name, even though I love it. I thank you for that.

This is the reason I put up the disclaimer that the selection I might pick might not be ENTIRELY in the same vein, but it's close enough that I think of it when I listen to yourself.

I give you M.O.O.N. - "Hydrogen" [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SNE2oCZH_4k&list=RDDpRUKLKCY-w&index=13]

A Dolphin hacks the internet with John Wick. What's not to like?

There was a thumbnail laser whip in that!

You challenged me. I accept challenges.

I present you with a singer who I feel unworthy to think about most times. With a remix that bumps a stellar song to an unheard level.

Tori Amos - "Raspberry Swirl (Scarlet Spectrum Feels)" [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pt-LKsyT1qc]

---

On the sidebar, I've shown my musical tastes run the gambit. And I seem to listen to mostly cerebral or emotional music.

Fuck that.

Here's some songs I listen to when I'm practicing and/or working out.

-Street Fighter 3 Third Strike - "Gill's Theme" [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FtEsqspxONg]. It is the best fighting game of all time. Of course it would have the best fighting music.

-Audio Slave - "Cochise" [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KDMvN45sjo4] Don't ask me why this helps me with my bench press. It just does. RIP Chris Cornell

-Coma - "Numb" [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lP2ef-bMx9k] I can't find the regular song through all through all the Covers, so I figured it might as well just put up the way I first heard this song.

... I was going to kill so many damn monsters to this song. But it only came out for the Xbox and the Gamecube.

-The Prodigy - "Breathe" [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rmHDhAohJlQ] This messed. my. mind. UP when I heard this as a kid. Suddenly, those kids in high school always listening to really angry Heavy Metal music made sense. It felt GREAT to get your blood pumping.

(Bonus fun fact, This is the type of music Prodigy was known for before their 'reboot'. Everyone in the Place [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WY87o9IZXWg]. RIP Keith Flint)

-Tekken 7 OST: "Mishima Building - Final Round (Metallic Experience 2nd)" [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hZdPMIo2qEE] God I want to spar right now listening to this...

An unexcusable oversight for sure. From now on I will endeavour to pick only tracks that more closely aligned with your Firefly fanfiction phase. ;-) It will be 99% guesswork, but that does conveniently provide exactly the same freedoms as before. :p

Damn, gonna have to bookmark all this for later as am a bit of a rushed busy bee today, but there are some good names inspiring confidence already. Before running off though, quick addition of a couple of upbeats this time;

Pendulum - Ransom Pendulum are like the same blood as The Prodigy, I feel. If The Prodigy were a Pokemon, Pendulum would be their next evolution stage. To the point where mixing the two's work is almost cheating. They've been very successful here, so only going for a couple of underappreciated gems. (Even tho Hold Your Colour album provided some undeniably good memories)
Recommend use of headphones or loud volume for all of course... whatever makes the bass feel reaal tingly!

Pendulum - The Follower 2004 The drop, oh my.
The Follower 2014 Only slight differences, but can't pick one over the other.
Okie dokie, much new music added to playlist found from this here thread, long travels made tomorrow will be accompanied with these fresh audios.
Was actually gonna post an Audioslave track or two before finishing to read OP, as Cornell's voice is like a perfect example of smoothly transitioning between soulful and firey whenever needed, which personally i think comes through more clearly than his Soundgarden years, despite having serious history with grunge/goth/metal tendencies that should cause a bias to swing the other way. Oh fuck it, I'll post them anyway;

Shadow of the Sun This and Like a Stone are of the few that aren't just passable lyrics carried by impressive performance.
Getaway Car Am starting to suspect he likes cars.
Show me how to Live ...and freeways.

Zero 7 - In the Waiting Line Think this was in an indie film a whiles ago, but no idea what one.
Zero 7 - This World (Mozez)

Faithless - Reverence An album that has officially burnt into the memory for good like a ritualistic scar, though comes with some unavoidable sad nostalgia.

Infected Mushroom - The Rat Frigging love these fruiting bodies. Very varied stuff throughout their productive career.
Infected Mushroom - Saeed An example of what auto-tune can achieve when it's not used to camouflage being a shit hack fraud.

Synthwave Has bugger all to do with the game, but a lot of mixes seem to be riding off that name lately. Can't blame them either. (It's easier, quicker and smaller to put mixes instead of lists)

Glitch n Swing Electro swing and glitch hop. Old and new together as one! Like Westworld! But more bouncy. Also worth looking at Glitch and Blues. Looking with your ears, I mean.

Beat Fatigue - Bearded Dragon Not "Batigue"? Or is that too DCCU?

Mumford and Sons - Broken Crown Some people I hear don't like them, as any artist perhaps, but they sound ok when their tracks aren't giving off the eerie whiff of trying to sneak a Jesus into escapism.
Home

Circus Contraption - Wicked FascinationsIf you gonna do an evil circus gimmick for your group, you gotta commit all the way. And they sure do that. Well, did. Until the wonderful US culture of the "shooting spree" robbed members from existence.
Circus Contraption - Come to the circus
We're all mad
Red Noodle [small]It helps that they're musiciany musical musicians a lot, like this instrumental flaunts.[/small]
Charmed, I'm Sure
Hot Potato
Good to know ya

Alright, hopefully that overcompensated previous downer contributions of mine. Guilt officially defeated! For the next hour at least.

Let's start this off with something a little saucy. I can not help but to hear this whenever I play Mario Kart

Although, I would be lying to say that's how I'm feeling right now. Actually, it's a somber time for me right now. So I'm going to hit you with a little Ben Folds Five.

Not Somber enough? My friend Joseph Arthur has you covered.

The only 2 I can think of are live, because in live music videos it is impossible fake musical talent. The first, just because of the sheer amount of rock legend in the mix

While my Guitar Gently Weeps [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6SFNW5F8K9Y]

From the 2004 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame ceremony. Steve Winwood, Jeff Lynne, Tom Petty... even Dhani Harrison performing in a tribute to his dad. And Prince bringing the solo, showing some serious guitar talent. And speaking of talent...

Throwdown at the Hoedown [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d0rp-r8yShs]

Bela Fleck and the Flecktones. One of the worlds most talented banjo players Bela Fleck solo duels with perhaps the most talented bass player in the world Victor Wooten, after watching Jeff Coffin sax solo duel... himself. In just a little repeating riff instrumental is some of the most technically complex and precise performance put to video.

That solo isn't actually all that technically difficult, but it has an amazing amount of "feel" to it, which imo is a talent on its own, and one in which Prince excelled. Not that Prince was lacking when it came to technical chops. The man could shred when he wanted to, but didn't do so very often.

Which I'm guessing is a reason why he's not generally considered one of the all-time great guitar heroes, tho I'd say he arguably is.

Coincidentally, that exact Prince performance was shown to me last weekend. It's always a good time to see someone actually get into music they're playing, whether technically impressive at the time or not. One of more memorable feely plays i've seen so far is Steve Vai's Tender Surrender, as am pretty sure he's aiming for the musical performance equivalent of a climax anyway, so don't fret the slow start. (lol accidental pun)

Hmmm, Music videos?

Well i think i will just put a few videos not only with music, but also where the people have fun or are funny (or both)

Let's see...
The Beards with the tragic (and insane) story of a BEARD ACCESSORY STORE
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Upcq8gfYZU
And then what happens if drummer and singer switch for a moment of insanity on stage (Including a really shitty/amazing Oboe-Solo):

Our next stop in our quest is Barbarion. Umm, what happened to rock? Well let them tell you about THEIR ROCK.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cLHXYLHMhK

Now up north, we meet some finnish dudes (the Porkka Playboys) crammed into a a rusty VW Polo covering Bohemian Rhapsody:

Can't have this list without J.B. und K.G. (Tenacious D). How about "Master Exploder"?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=80DtQD5BQ_A

Then to the Retinal Circus Show by Devin Townsend - Just having a chaotic party onstage... Let's see "Bend it like Bender"
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4a-D4wzJLXg

Next off we have Nekrogoblikon ... i can't really understand them... and i don't like the music, but the video is just so damn entertaining. #RelatableGOBLIN

So do you have some songs/shows which are just silly fun?

EDIT: OH MY GOD, i forgot Ninja Sex Party... Oh no, must be early onset dementia... i am so sorry.

Here have some Peppermint Creams:
