F.E.A.R 2 went through classification, after going through the 'banned' and then the 'ok nevermind' situation too.orannis62 said:Let me get this straight. Many of the problems they mentioned sound a lot like Fallout 3. Now, FO3 was temporarily banned in Australia due to drugs, which were then renamed and the game was reallowed. Now, did violence somehow become a much more important thing between now and then?
... That explains quite a bit...piers789 said:If the Australian classification Board are that erratic with their selection and also their decisions it seems to me like they must have some kind of quota to meet, if only a temporary one at least.
Being English I'm dubious about Bill of Rights' but at the same time... actually I'm not entirely sure where I'm going with this. Sorry. (It is 2:29am)stompy said:... Still, damn Atkinson. Just another reason I want a Bill of Rights...
Thats the spirit!MaxTheReaper said:Every time I see the word "banned," I get this feeling that one day, I am going to end up soaked in blood and gore, staring down the people who did the banning, holding only a knife, asking "Why are you making me do this to you?"
Are you trying to say that, even though you guys have a Bill of Rights, your government is still allowed to place CCTV all throughout London?piers789 said:Being English I'm dubious about Bill of Rights' but at the same time... actually I'm not entirely sure where I'm going with this. The CCTV? There's more that I care to think about. In inner cities its out of control; luckily I live in Dorset.stompy said:Are you trying to say that, even though you guys have a Bill of Rights, your government is still allowed to place CCTV all throughout London?piers789 said:Being English I'm dubious about Bill of Rights' but at the same time... actually I'm not entirely sure where I'm going with this. Still, it's better than lying down and letting our government take away our right to mediums of expression... hell, another reason why a Bill of Rights would be beneficial is that, if it were to have a clause about freedom of speech, it would mean that our federal government couldn't initiate that firewall they want to.
Tell us about it...Grayjack72 said:Australia really is strict on Video Games.
This [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Internet_censorship_in_Australia] should contain the information about the proposed Internet filter.piers789 said:The CCTV? There's more that I care to think about. In inner cities its out of control; luckily I live in Dorset.
About the Bill, I agree, a freedom of speech act would be beneficial. But who would write the Bill? Surely the government would put in what they wanted and leave out what others might want.
Just out of curiosity, what is the firewall about? I must admit my Australian politics are up to much.
Uh, Painkiller was released quite a while ago. When it was first released the graphics were pretty damn impressive. It was also impressive how well it ran on older systems.Indigo_Dingo said:It stumbles where Painkiller got through because its graphics aren't woefully primitive.
Not at all, small dev, game that isn't likely to bring in any decent "royalties" seems like a pretty soft target for them to hit.CarlosYenrac said:I really, really, really, definitely do NOT want to see your kind of porn.Johnn Johnston said:Sounds like an adults-only tv channel.
On-topic, not really unexpected from our classification board- they seem to make decisions on things without paying attention to precedent.
