Starcraft II you say?
I bought it.
It's hours upon hours of fun, and that's just the campaign...
Immensly high replay value...
I mean, I've been a fan since the original but it's really worth buying, trust me...

Yeah, I played SC1 and always got the shit beaten out of me. Is there anyway to like. Only VS noobs such as myself?

Definately give Dragon Age: Origins a try if you like RPGs. It's probably the best console RPG I've played.

If console RPG's aren't your thing - Baldur's Gate 1 and 2. Because the Baldur's Gate games are to me what Silent Hill 2 and Prince of Persia are to Yahtzee. Play them!

Yep, you get fifty placement matches to practice on.
You get paired up with someone whos too good for you, it places you lower.
You get paired with someone who you're better than, you get placed higher.
It's quite accurate in my opinion.
And if you get tired of the placement matches and think you're ready for ranked you can stop them at any time...
Or just play with friends or strangers vs AI...
It's a great game...

Oh, almost forgot to mention the many many many...
many many...
many many many custom games that have been and will be made...
The map editor has been upgraded so much that you can make pretty much anything on the Starcraft engine...

Don't worry about getting crushed in the multiplyer of SC2. There are few players out there who are bigger noobs than me, but Starcraft 2 has managed to find at least a few of them.

Total Overdose, if you can find it. It's not perfect, not deep, but it's super fun. Like bubble wrap.

Think GTA3 + Max Payne + extra cheesy writing.
Aw man, that game...
That game was so awesome...
I wonder what the hell happened to it, it should have a cult following by now.
Or am I not looking hard enough?

You can change the difficulty of AI from very easy to insane. Player vs Player matches are divided into leagues, you start off as practice then bronze and so on and so forth.
Unfortunately I cant even make it out of Bronze yet I can beat the AI on insane difficulty.
Very good game to pick up, the single player alone is worth it

BIOSHOCK!!! My Favorite FPS Of All Time.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yp0Tz-qWmM8 IGN Review. also, if youre looking for multiplayer, Bioshock 2 has good multiplayer, but you should get the map pack ($10.00 PS3) which gives you "rebirth" (prestige) and 6 new maps. And also the sinclair solution tester pack ($5.00 PS3) gives you 2 new characters, melee weapons, weapon upgrades, gene tonics, and increases level cap to Level 50. However, it is more or less a horror game, so think on that.... :) With all the stuff, its replay ability is great. you'll never play it the same way twice.

Go for Mass Effect. It's an awesome experience, and you can probably pick it up for cheap.

BioShock is also amazing, and also cheap. Wouldn't agree on getting the second, but if you really like the gameplay of the first, it's not a bad idea.

Also, Call of Duty: World at War. Another good game you can pick up for cheap. Not as good as the other two, but it has strong multiplayer (and more balanced than MW2), plus Nazi Zombies, which is a totally unique experience. However most of it is DLC and requires extra cash.

Try Dragon Age: Origins, Baldur's Gate 1 & 2 and Mass Effect 1 & 2. That should keep you busy for a while. Starcraft 2 is also likely to consume a lot of your time too, especially if like multiplayer.

Minecraft.
You ninja'd me.

Anyway, Minecraft is awesome. It's like, the best game you can get for 10 dollars.

Also, check out Mass Effect. It's pretty good. I'm only just starting but I like it.

Aaand, Assassin's Creed. It's quite possibly the best sandbox game I've played, besides SR2.

Also, Saints Row 2. It's quite possibly the best sandbox game I've ever played.

I'd go with Duke Nukem 3D, because there IS a sequel coming out, and people need to remember the greatness it has within its pixels.

I do not see Halo 3, ODST or Reach on that list
Failing that, try Tales of Symphonia
Not floating your boat? give KoToR a try
