Hey Escapists,
I've had an xbox 360 for awhile now, but I've never connected to the internet with it because I haven't really had the money to buy a wireless adapter. Lately though I've been getting lots of free downloads from various games I've bought and I hate letting that go to waste and I surprisingly have a little extra money after Christmas.

Anyways, I'm honestly an idiot when it comes to certain pieces of hardware and this is one of them. So I found an adapter online at amazon but I want to make certain it's the right piece.

http://www.amazon.com/Xbox-360-Wireless-Network-Adapter-Networks/dp/B000B6MLV4/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1293678577&sr=8-1

So help me out here if you don't mind guys...Is this the right piece? Is it a good buy?

Thanks in advance. ^_^

I'm pretty sure I got mine cheaper. Anyways, I'd jump on it. Amazon will not fuck you over.

Also, this is the right piece.

Holy crap, they're still bloody expensive. Anyway check pawn shops first or any other places you can get it second hand. That's what I did and 3 years later it still works great.

As has been previously stated, it's the correct piece. But if you don't mind a cord, I would actually recommend getting a long ethernet cord instead. It's cheaper and provides a tad faster connection speed. You can get about 30 metres of ethernet for around $30 I think, not exactly sure.

You found the old G adapter. If you have an N router, your best bet is this.

EDIT: Damn, you already bought it. Didn't read that. >.<
No, no. Thank you for the help. ^_^ I'm glad you mentioned it and I appreciate the help. Hopefully the one I bought will work just as well cause anything out of the 60 dollar range is too much for me.

If you can, get a cable. Its direct and cuts out the extra step which slows down the wireless.

Like so

Wireless process= Xbox - Wireless adapter - Internet - Xbox Live

Cable Process = Xbox - Internet - Xbox Live

It takes out the extra step, which means that it is getting direct internet instead of having to go through the wireless adapter first.

I had to choose a wireless because my Xbox is nowhere near a computer. I get noticably slower games whereas my friend (who has terrible internet, Btw) gets lubed up fast games.

Plus, its like a dollar per yard of cable, so it is much cheaper.

If you have your xbox close to a computer, by all means get a cable.
