Need an RTS HELP

Right guys

Been away from RTS games for a bit (btw yes I do realise Starcraft2 is nearly here, I will be getting it so disregaurd that for now), And I am feeling the urge to play one.

What I want, is something a bit AOE style, where it's got a main story... but where I can go to a random/custom map vs. AI and build a big mega fortress and... almost sim-city style build my citadel how I want it....

The only RTS I really have at the moment is Starcraft 1 and Sins Of A Solar Empire. Oh and Age Of Mythology but, we aint talking about that.

How about Warcraft 3 or Stronghold: Crusader? Stronghold is best if you want to build "mega fortress".

You should give the Dawn of War games a try. Good for base building, the first two have a story line, and you can play skirmish to your heart's content.
You can get the first three of the games on Steam of £14.99. with the third game in the pack, Dark Crusade, you have a total of seven unique playable races, and you can customise army/unit colours, flags, and banners.
