im sorry if this is in the wrong section. it isnt strictly gaming but its related to it.
anyway i know enough about pcs to get by usually but ive been having a technical problem lately and cant figure it out. whenever i install a steam game, i lose my internet connection and i have to disconnect and then reconnect before the game will start installing. i first noticed this after replacing my desktop adapter card with my sounds card (i had run out of PCI slots for my new sound card so i had to remove either the adapter card or the ethernet card, and i already had a usb adapter for wireless internet, so the adapter card seemed to be the best choice). i thought the connection problem i might be having could be because i removed the adapter card so last night i tried putting that card back in and instead removing the ethernet card, but i had the same exact problem. as soon as i started installing something from steam, i abruptly lost my connection. this only ever happens when installing a steam game so it isnt a huge deal, its just annoying because it means i can only install one game at a time and when that game is downloading, i have to babysit it to make sure i dont lose my connection partway through. does anyone know why i would lose my connection only when installing steam games and more important, how to fix it?
