First of, I have checked google. I've found sites that could help, and posted questions. 7 hours later, and all of them have no answers. So I've come here.

My Laptop cannot click on "Connect to Internet".

It can connect to the internet. But only if it automatically connects all the time (I.E Moms and Dads house) But it will not go to the "Connect to the Network" page. Like, you can click on it, and it will look like its loading for 2 seconds than instantly stop. Can anyone help, or point me to an Active website where I can get help?

Another request for help and another OP who has given no useful info, really The Escapist is the worse forum for this.

Tell us

- What connection type are you using, Dial - up, ADSL, Cable
- How are you connecting to it, wireless, hardline, other
- What OS are you using, XP and Vista have different work arounds for resolving connection issues
- What browser are you using

Also your description is, odd since it sounds like the old dial up issue with it not automatically dialling when you open the browser but it could also be the DNR error you get when their is no active network connection.

Give us a picture of the error instead of describing it it will pin a lot of things down rather quickly.

There is no error.

I'm running Vista Home Edition.

The Browser has nothing to do it.

Wireless Cable.

The fact is that there is no error. The Computer seems to think that "Connect to a Network" has come up. It says it fine.

I click on "Connect to a Network". It gives the loading sign for 1 to 2 seconds, stops, and thats it.

It would help if you could give specs, OS, any added software you have added beyond standard OS that may be a firewal, anti-viral, anti-malware etc.

Also where you are trying to connect. Starbucks, school, etc.

I know on my laptop when I right click for options it says "connect to network", not internet. I have Vista. It might be none of those networks have internet access on them. Or if it is a new laptop, the manufacturer sometimes put their own software to do the job the OS does anyway in a vain effort to say their product is better. This happened with my most recent HP. I had to shut down and even remove programs just to let my laptop run properly off the OS.

More details of your product and what you have tried would help. I also assume you are talking wireless. If you have been plugging in a netork cable at your parents house, it could be you have your wireless card turned off and not know it.

If it's connecting automatically and you have internet access I am not sure what the problem is or why you even need to go in to the network connection screen.

Because I want to connect to, I dunno, other places besides my mothers house. My dad got a new internet service and I can't connect.

Have you tired to access the network connections through the control panel, rather than clicking on the taskbar icon?

I assume you ARE logged in as an admin otherwise you won't be able to get access to the network connection wizard.
