Need help finding an old Mac game

So my friend is going crazy remebering a game nobody else remebers. He played on those old Macintosh computers we had at the school. It was a castle "Type" Game, you had your own regions, each region had a resorce like gold or food. The pope was one of the AI's(He had knights), when you built your own castles, you had limted stone to build it with. In the battle scenes you clicked the play button and the game would play out the battle for you. He said it was "Decent" Graphics for that time. Were looking around early to mid 90's.

EDIT: It also asked you questions from time to time about history questions and the answers were in the booklet that came with it.

Well he keeps going on about it in detail, so I doubt he made it all up.
