Hey escapist. I'm low on funds and all my consoles are either broken or sold for cash. I crashed my pc as well so i need a new game to play. Specifically one that is browser based mmo. Don't say runescape. I would prefer something that is 3d and has some action based gameplay. If i could find an hack'n'Slash that would be great. You can throw in mmorpgs but no 2d or menu based ones like mobsters. I would really like something that i can really get into! Plz help

edit:I said MMO not MMORPG. it can be mmorpg but i have seen shooters online mmos that are browser based so i hope that makes things a little clearer.

OK, ok. It's not really an MMO, but Quake Live is really fun to play, and completely browser-based (you just have to install a plugin). Umm... I've never heard of a Hack-and-slash browser-based MMO before though.

Hey, look what I found!

http://www.freemmo.com/games/hack-and-slash/

I think they're mostly based on the typical pay-for-all-the-good-items/WoW clone model, but there might be something in that list that interests you.

Also, I'm curious. Why does it have to be browser-based? That limits your options quite a lot.

Vindictus is sort of like that, but I wonder if he means a Diablo esque type of game by 'hack and slash? x.x
That's possible. I've even seen people call Diablo 2 an MMO before...

If there's anything that Extra Credits has taught me, is that MMO and MMORPG have become synonymous, and that is an error. :)

You might try Echo Bazaar. I haven't played it, so my opinion is a little bit uninformed, but from what I understand it's a slice of life MMO, it's browser-based, and most people that I hear that play it really enjoy it, so it might be something worth looking into.

Savage 2 is really, really good. It's not browser-based, you download the client, but it's what you want otherwise.

It's 3rd person hack and slash, but the ranged weapons kick it into 1st person. It's also pretty fast-paced, and the strategy of it can get really interesting as well.

I'm curious, why does it need to be browser based? That seveherely limits your choice of quality free games.
