Hey guys. I'm supposed to write articles for work on the GTX 660 and the 7850HD. My boss requires that I use both.

Instructions also tell me to use the most graphically intense games of 2012. Off the top of my head the games that come to mind are Batman Arkham City and Far Cry 3. You guys know of any other games that came out in 2012 that are graphically intensive?

Also, it'd be nice if you guys can provide a link to a benchmark using either of the cards for the game you're recommending, thanks.

EDIT: Supposed to be 7850 not 7870. BTW do both current generation Nvidia and AMD GPUs support 4k resolution, multiple monitors, and 3D?

Quantum Conundrum was apparently really demanding for such a visually simple game. It had something to do with motion blur and a physics engine that was based on your framerate. Or so I was told.

Any spunkgargleweewee (Warfightah, Blops, Halo) is often assumed to be pretty demanding.

I'm not an expert but I'd hate for this thread to not at least get a reply.

Witcher 2, Metro 2033 (comes with benchmarking tool), ArmA II, Crysis 2, Total War: Shogun 2. Those aren't 2012 but they're fairly intensive and I can't think of much else. Both should support 4k resolutions and multiple monitors, but I haven't heard of 3D with ATI, something about them supporting it but there not being hardware (glasses?).

http://www.overclock.net/t/991016/crysis-2-benchmark-tool-new-dx11-version (for Crysis 2)

Just curious, where are you working that you get asked for this but you're not prepared?

Nope, all those games have pretty garbage textures, although maybe particle effects and muzzle flashes... no can't imagine.

Hitman: Absolution is a good choice for a graphically intensive game(it has a built in benchmark tool).

Also the free to play Planetside 2 is also graphically demanding.

I actually work for this ad company that does content stuff for random people. Topics are really diverse. I could research this myself but thought it'd be faster if I asked around. And yeah I think you're right with FPS games I don't think most of them aren't really that demanding. In fact the only FPS game that has really ever tasked my GPU is Far Cry 3.

Sadly, the person who wants this article requires that the game be something that came out in 2012. I'm sure some older games can be more graphically intensive but I have to comply less I get a revision notice.

Anything by Square Enix. Mind you, I'm not very savvy about graphics but anything Squeenix makes always looks amazing, even in consoles. So Hitman: Absolution is a good one. Or The Secret World. Or even Mass Effect 3?

...Well, I tried.

Absolution, Witcher 2 (Ultrasampling makes everything its *****), Far Cry 3 and maybe Battlefield 3...? The Frostbite Engine is more intensive than the other FPSes I believe.

But of course, you have to throw in Half Life 2 and Crysis, because those are standard benchmarking points.
