A couple of weeks ago I got an old copy of Duke Nukem 3D. This was important to me because I have all three Duke games on PS1 and the controls for 3D's port are fuckin' terrible. I tried to install it but the graphics on my laptop are non-compatible. Changing compatibility settings won't work and I suck at using the virtual console. My backup plan of using my parents old computer during the winter holidays went out the window when they told me it stopped working. I really want to play this. Help me, escapist readers, you are my only hope.

Whatever, just wash your hands.
Well there is a program called dosbox that runs old dos games in emulation and it works really well, there is also something called Eduke that lets you run it in a modern os but you might only be able to run it with 3d graphics, I haven't messed around with it much.

For a more updated version, download EDuke32 to play Duke 3D:
http://eduke32.com/

If you want to play the original, use xDuke:
http://vision.gel.ulaval.ca/~klein/duke3d/

You can also use Dosbox like the previous poster mentioned, but it's easier with these ports (and you get some extra features). Have fun!

he's correct - just D/L eDuke then copy the .CON files (game data in install directory) to the eDuke Directory, and use eDukes Launcher

I got it working with eduke. It is alot faster than the ps1 port. Now just to relearn the controls (I accidentally reached for my ps3 controller once). I might be back with questions about accessing multiplayer (I just want to see if there is anyone still on after 14 years), but I better bone up on the basics first. Thanks guys
