I recently found my EEE PC I hate the default OS and have trouble picking a replacement OS Android (or atleast the special EEE PC version) runs terrible it only has 512MB of RAM currently making a Pinguy OS 11 seeing if that works.
I,m not that good with Linux so Gentoo isn't going to work.
PS
follow up found a special version of Ubuntu that sort-of works under the little bugger but when I try to install it I get some kind of error "Error informing the kernel about modifications to partition /dev/sda1 -- Device or resource busy. This means Linux won't know about any changes to /dev/sda1 until you reboot -- so you shouldn't mount or use it in any way before rebooting"
I also get the error on sda5
followed by another error
"the ext4 file system creation in partition #1 of scsi2 (0,0,0)(sda) failed."

also is there any way to completely wipe the memory?

PPS
managed to start the installation of EEEbuntu proper but for some reason the installer crashed at 95% the rage of a million suns can,t even begin to describe how pissed I am about it.

PPPS
just installed Easy Peasy it runs great! anyone looking for a simple Netbook OS DOWNLOAD THIS!!!!

I'd advise Ubuntu, works fine on my Netbook. The interface works really well with the small screen.

Good luck!
