Fuck man! The stuff itself isn't scary but considering the fact that my printer went off and I nearly jumped from my seat when reading it proves it does have some good scare potiental!

drink lots of red bull and caffeinated drinks (pepsi, coke, dr pepper etc:) Maybe play a lot of video games as well, keep walking around the house. Basically just dont lie down and close your eyes.

If you feel yourself getting sleepy eat something like a piece of fruit prefrably citrus.

Also keep lots of lights on as you need to fool your body into thinking it's not really dark so it produces less Melatonin the hormone that makes you sleepy which is inhibated by light. Woo thank you biology class =D

Also drink lots as it'll make you need the bathroom which'll keep you awake but avoid warm drinks as that can make you relaxed and sleepy.

And find something to do, nothing worse than boredom for making you sleepy and don't clock watch set and alarm for when you need to leave the house and then hide the clocks thinking it's late but not knowing you can fool yourself about the time, and nothing makes you sleppier than looking at a clock and seeing holy crap it's 3am wha...zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz ........

Go for a big mix of sugar, coffee, Red Bull and Relentless.

Actually, that's not really a good idea, just go for one of those.

And really really cold showers.

Caffeine should be a good place to start, take your favorite blend of coffee, cola, red bull or green tea if you're into teaine (my favorite is gunpowder [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gunpowder_tea]). What also really helps is a long shower in which you alternate warm water with icecold water. Start and end with warm water if you haven't done this before. Doing some sports might also help: basketball, squash, ... Or play some action games, for instance the free and freely available Quake Live should get you some thrills.

I've been looking for something new since caffeine doesn't really touch me these days, and the most commonly recommended thing is guarana. Should be available from... all sorts of places, look around I guess. If you're in Britain, Holland & Barrett certainly do it.

Interesting. Guaranine appears to have the same qualities as caffeine but because your body isn't used to it, it feels all of its wonderful qualities at full power. I'll have some guaranine tea please!

haha glad i could help in some way.i have barely read any of them i was playing diablo 2 haha. i hate doing single player cause it takes forever. i *just* got to act 2 of course i've also barely been playing it as well.

Always a winner. If you cant get MD then Monster or cheap generic supermarket energy drink works the same with a nasty aftertaste. Try and do some grinding, and under no circumstance should you Raid or do any sort of instance if avoidable. They will mentally fatigue you and make you go to sleep.

Also, if you dont want to hop onto the WoW Gravy Train, the RTS series is also good. I'll also highly recommend Peggle.

If you don't want to do anything drastic like some ideas are, then just grab a couple of hours sleep the afternoon of the day before you leave?

And one final note. DO NOT MASTURBATE. That is the cheapest and most widespread sedative ever.

Played KotOR recently and I didnt even notice it was daytime until 11 in the morning :D Then I slept until 2 and got back up to play some more KotOR.

Try Cannibal Corpse, or Slipknot, or something else that's really upbeat and kickass. With lots of screaming.

Anyway, I don't really know since I never have a problem staying awake at night (only in the morning), but I hear cocaine erm, caffeine...does the trick.
