Need help with computer issue

Alright not sure how well this will work out, but meant as well try. My computer has a really weird problem running some games (ones that come to mind are Far Cry and League of Legends). Basically when ever I try to run them they move at triple speed making them unplayable. On League of Legends the problem happened once before but faded after a day, but after a patch it started up again. Not sure if anyone knows what's causing it or can give me any advice for a fix but help if you can please.

My computer specs are the following if that helps:

CPU speed: 690.0 MHz
RAM: 958.4 MB
Operating system: Microsoft Windows XP Professional Service Pack 2 (build 2600)
Video Card: GeForce 6100 nForce 405
DirectX version: 9.0c
Sound Card: Realtek High Definition Audio

Are you sure you posted the right tech specs? 690 Mhz is Pentium 3 speeds, and I don't know how such a computer could even run Far Cry in the first place.

Anymore details? Both about your problems and your tech specs.
