A few months back I bought a collection of five star wars games for fifteen quid for pc. The games in the collection are

Empire at war
KOTOR
Battlefront
Jedi Knight 2
Republic Commander

of these most of them seem to work fine, however KOTOR keeps freezing after playing for a certain (and short) ammount of time.

The disc seems fine. I think the problem might be my computer which I bought last year, custom made and spent a lot on, since the other games work fine is there any way to make KOTOR work or should I just try it on a less powerful computer? I.e. my laptop?

What system are you running? Kotor is weird, but it picks and chooses which Vista/7 systems it'll work on.

Hard to tell what the problem is if we don't know anything about your computer.

What are your specs? What OS are you using? etc.

I had similar problems when first trying to run that on a newer system.
Most recent patch was 1.03b (well thats the last one i found) and it seemed to improve the stability. I cant lie though, KoToR crashes occasionally on every system ive seen it on since its origional release, same for most lucas arts releases. but even with random lockups they are still worth playing.

Are you running it in a compatible mode? Because the game wasn't made for vista. And don't worry, the game's rather old so I don't think it's your PC hardware.

Listen to this wise man! A Patch is kinda the best thing I can think of. + Even back in the day when I played it, the game had a tendency to crash every 4-5 hours(sometimes 2) so keep autosave on.

if your running vista or 7, especially if you have modded the game as I did to mine, you will need a patch to stop the freeze.

I am new to pc gaming, I used to be a strictly console gamer so I'm not sure.

No I haven't modded it but I will get the patch when I'm next on my gaming pc.
