I've always had my own place with my own wired connection (so I don't know much about wireless networking), but now I've moved into a sharehouse with WiFi. My Internet access is okay, the speed is pretty bad but basically acceptable since I don't really have to download that much stuff. I don't get disconnected or anything, I don't suffer from a wildly variable download speed.
There's just one very specific problem. For some reason access to the network seems to cut out for roughly 2 seconds out of every 10, with incredible regularity. Here's a pic of a ping test so you can see what I mean:
No one I've spoken to can figure out what might be causing such regular interruptions. I'm using a TP-Link AC1200 Dual Band Wireless USB Adapter. I've tried connecting to both 2.4G and 5G, the problem's the same on both.
Any ideas? Is the problem likely to be with the router, my PC, the ISP? Is there anything more I can do to find out what the problem might be?
Cheers!
