I've been trying to get a good blog up for a while now and I've been having a few troubles. First being I'm a final year university student so I have little time to focus on playing video games anymore. Secondly I'm poor as heck so that prevents me from grabbing the latest releases so I'm always 8 - 12 months behind everyone else in what game I'm playing. (Still playing around with Skyrim even without the DLC). At the moment though I've had some free time and had a chance to actually write some stuff to blog or vlog about, heres my biggest problem. They suck.
What would you guys recommend I do? A few days ago, inspired by the majestic Jim Sterling, I wrote a piece about how an easy mode in Dark Souls should be implemented and it was kinda well received. Now I'm writing a piece on Final Fantasy and what Square needs to bear in mind when they release FF Versus 13 and or FF15, and two things struck me like an alcoholic father. 1) It was a fairly shoddy analysis and that what I release couldn't possible cover the subject in adequate depth without being an hour long and 2) This seems hopelessly out of date.
What are your guys thoughts? What would you recommend I do? I'm thinking about just posting them anyway and let the harsh critics of the internet call me rude names and insinuate their better than me to sharpen myself into shape. Alternatively I could agree a topic here with you guys and then start writing about that.
Thanks for the advice.
EDIT. I don't really have a theme for the blog at the moment, I was planning on going for a Game Overthinker/Jimquisition approach and focus on trends and quirks of the gaming industry. In my most recent piece I'm trying to deconstruct what made Final Fantasy great and how 13/13-2 lost that.
