Need some DS recommendations

Hello Everyone,

I am going to be going on a trip in about a month with alot of layovers. So to pass the time recently got a DS again. So I was wondering if everyone could recommend some good ones. I am open to any games. So please post away.

Is it an original DS, the ones with the GBA cartriges? If so then you could also choose from al lot of nice GBA games.
Anyway, I only really play RPG's on my DS. There are a lot of good ones, such as:
Pokemon Platinum
Pokemon Black/White
Final Fantasy 4
Dragon Quest
if you have a GBA slot you could also try
Final Fantasy 6
Pokemon Emerald
Pokemon Firered/Leafgreen
I've never played it but i know that there are CoD games on the DS
There is also a GTA game on the DS, not sure how good it is though.
Super Mario RPG's are good, as is the Super Mario Bros platformer

Thats about as much as I know. Hope it helps, other people can probably fill in where I missed.

Professor Layton, any version, damn good Puzzle game, sure some of them have some cheap ass answers but still worth it.

Golden Sun: Dark Dawn (Or the GBA ones) fun little RPG.

Fire Emblem, Strategy game where your dead characters stay dead? Hell yes.

The obvious (Mario, Mario Kart, Zelda, Pokemon)

Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days

Kirby, because Kirby is tits.

That's about all I can think off of the top of my head, go poke around some review websites and see what ones you might enjoy, it's what I tend to do.

any of the DS castlevania games are really good: dawn of sorrow, portrait of ruin and order of ecclesia. (if you can find a copy that is).

final fantasy tactics a2 was a lot of fun too, if you can ignore the childish story. has literally hundreds of hours of fights.

I've played Chains of Memories and 358/2 days as far as portable ones go, I don't have a PSP so no Birth by Sleep.

how could i forget?!

megaman zero collection. even though you have the GBA slot, finding all 4 games are probably impossible, or way more expensive than just buying this for DS.

since you do have GBA slot, you can get final fantasy 1-6, and i'd recommend 5 highly.

final fantasy 1+2: dawn of souls (GBA)
final fantasy 3 (DS)
final fantasy 4 (DS or GBA)
final fantasy 5 (GBA)
final fantasy 6 (GBA)

Hmmm, if you're into strategy, Advance Wars: Dual Strike or Fire Emblem.

The Pokemon games are self-explanatory.

Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of [insert version]

999, a puzzle visual novel.

Mario and Luigi: Bowser's inside story.

Etrian Odyssey 1, 2 & 3.

A throwback to the days when rogue-like dungeon crawlers RPGs ruled gaming.
They may seem daunting at the beginning, but if you spend your ability points wisely and get a few levels it'll become easier.

Also, if you've already gotten a 3DS, Etrian Odyssey 4 has been announced.

I also loved Final Fantasy Tactics a2, The main story is quite childish, but i found the sidequests to be very engaging, specialy the one about the fallen paladin and the duelhorn sidequest.
